I went ahead and bought a bunch of top of the line parts last week and I cant even get the system to boot up. Here is a list of everything besides the 9800 gx2 that is coming.
ABS Tagan BZ Series 1300W Power Supply
Intel Core 2 Extreme Processor
Asus P5E3 Deluxe /WiFi-AP motherboard
WD 150gig 10,000rpm SATA hard drive
Asus 7800 video card
CORSAIR Dominator 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1800 (PC3 14400) Dual Channel
So far I havent gotten anything to work right, the system doesnt boot at all and I hear nothing. The lights on the monitor just stay yellow the entire time and the hard drive doesnt even spin. I'm thinking its a RAM issue but I was fairly sure that this motherboard could handle it.
I tried using one stick of ram in the first slot with just the hard drive and video card connected and still nothing. I have no clue what to try next i've tried everything that I know how to do, any help would be appreciated.

I think most motherboards beep when there's a ram issue, don't they?
Are there any lights on the motherboard? If they're not lighting up, it could be a faulty PSU.

Yes there is a green light that stays lit on the motherboard and the video card lights up like its supposed to, there is just nothing beyond that. One thing I did find weird is when I tried my old IDE drive. I turned the computer on and the drive does not spin at all but when I unplug the IDE cable from the hard drive while the computer is on it starts to spin with just the power cable connected. The SATA drive doesnt do a damn thing no matter what I do.

So you get no spin up to fans, harddrives, etc?
Sounds to me like a power supply issue if so.

All the fans spin its just this hard drive that wont, the video card lights up and everything. I have a new PS coming monday if that doesnt do anything ill have to send the whole motherboard back im guessing. Thats the only thing I can think could be the problem since it wont doesnt make any type of beeping sound even with just the CPU and heatsink connected.

remove everything except power supply, motherboard, memory, cpu, and video card. try to power up.
if still nothing, remove the video card. it should beep like crazy. if nothing, remove memory. it should beep like crazy too. if still nothing, well, you've isolated it to being either the motherboard, the cpu, or the power supply. swapping power supplies is easy enough. you don't even need anything huge (more than 300-400W) if you're just testing to boot the system.
if after swapping the PS you still get nothing, it's either the cpu or the motherboard.
or you sure you installed the cpu into the motherboard properly? and that the motherboard is properly mounted in your case? make sure you didn't short out the motherboard against the case. you're supposed to have those little brass nut things that go into your case which your motherboard is supported by and sits on top of while it's mounted to your case.
is your cpu properly installed in its socket? got the heatsink installed correctly and connected to the right lead on the motherboard?
also, i see that your memory requires 2.0V (i have no idea ytf you even bought that memory. 2GB of memory for $460? are you fucking nuts or rich?) and DDR3's default voltage is 1.5V. you're looking at a 0.5V increase over default. it's possible the motherboard is trying to boot with the default 1.5V, which is most likely NOT going to be enough to get the memory fired up. you can try swapping in some other memory that runs at lower default voltages, then change the setting to 2.0V in the BIOS, and shut the computer down quickly (so you don't fry that memory) and swap your corsair memory in. but i'm not SURE about this...

I've tried everything except switching out PS's I have a new one coming today thats my last chance. I took the motherboard out of the case and sat it on cardboard to see if I had a short or something and no new results. I just dont understand why I havent got a single beep with this motherboard even with just the CPU and heatsink attatched. I was pretty sure everything I bought would have worked with each other, I can get the links so you can see the details of everything.
