Darkstrand 03-23-2008, 07:29 PM that g/lb of protein stuff is nonsense (for the average person) that came from the steroid using body builder population along with other nonsense like lifting results are 90% diet. It's so dumb that people think what works for MASSIVE steroid users will work for them. Rayn 03-23-2008, 08:16 PM same. have you started cutting yet?yeah, I've dropped 12 lbs already but the cold weather is inhibiting my progress (I hate the cold) Chimera 03-23-2008, 09:55 PM yeah, I've dropped 12 lbs already but the cold weather is inhibiting my progress (I hate the cold) I was up to 210 at one point but most of that weight lose is from diet. I'm normally around 193 but I could afford to get down to 180/185. Rayn 03-23-2008, 10:07 PM I'd be happy at 190. Fuzzy 03-24-2008, 12:15 PM im 6'2 189 and still trying to cut :'( MistaKe 03-24-2008, 04:17 PM :mecry: I'm small, but gaining slowly/surely from the new "lifestyle changes" I've incorporated (not really that dramatic, but, I eat totally different and have been back to the gym consistently after breaking my ankle a few years back). I'm only like 5'11", 150-155ish at the moment and trying to get that much protein in me daily is hard, no doubt. I'm happy with myself if I get 90-110g, really. sheeptaur 03-25-2008, 01:36 PM I can't image trying to get 200g of protein a day (6' 200lb) semen. lots of semen. Archimedes 03-27-2008, 04:00 PM I don't really bulk because I'm a hard-gainer, but I take whey protein after I workout just to ensure that I'm getting enough nutrients so I don't burn muscle. When I didn't workout for a long time I weighed about 148-150 normally, but now I weigh around 160. I don't really get into bulking/cutting cycles.. I just commute on my bike and run occasionally for my cardio and lift weights about four times a week to maintain decent physical shape. I agree with Rayn in that Optimum Nutrition is a good supplement, and the customer service at allstarhealth.com is quite good. I just ordered the wrong thing and had no problem taking care of it over the phone. Challenge 03-28-2008, 11:14 AM I started hitting the gym seriously about 6 months ago at 6'1 145 lbs, and I am now 6'1 185 lbs. If you want to gain mass, you shouldn't be asking fitness questions at a videogame-oriented forum. I suggest going to bodybuilding.com and looking at all the articles they have under their forums. I started taking 2 scoops of protein in the morning and 2 scoops right before I went to bed (which is what I recommend because your body will metabolize the protein slower as you sleep). You should also eat a bannana with some peanut-butter on it before you sleep, and make sure you're getting at LEAST 6-7 hours of sleep each night. After hitting the gym I usually take a scoop of creatine, but its not required. All creating really does is fill/bloat your muscles up with water. MAKE SURE you work your legs, because lower body workouts produce more testosterone than upperbody workouts, and you need testosterone to build muscle. I've also tried my share of products: BSN N.O. X-PLODE: It's a great product (only if you use it right). It will give you lots of energy and intensity in the gym, and give you more reps than you normally could have done, but it's not worth the price. BSN Axis-HT: Complete shit, waste of time and money. BSN Nitrix: It will get your self-esteem up. It gives you that feeling you get when your muscles are really bulgy and tight right when you get back from an awesome workout at the gym, only the feeling doesn't go away when you're on Nitrix, but in the end, minimal gains. Rayn 03-28-2008, 12:05 PM you must eat like a fucking champ. how much fat did you gain? Darkstrand 03-28-2008, 12:36 PM I started hitting the gym seriously about 6 months ago at 6'1 145 lbs, and I am now 6'1 185 lbs. RoloFolO man theres no way more than 1/4th of that was muscle MistaKe 03-28-2008, 12:45 PM RoloFolO man theres no way more than 1/4th of that was muscle Hmm, yeah.. I don't know, if you gained all that in muscle, more power to you bro. I'm looking to gain as well, but gain lean muscle and keep the fat off, obviously. Challenge 03-28-2008, 01:10 PM Honestly, I was skin and bones. I know its impossible to say that someone doesn't have any fat, but if there was someone, I would have been that person. And I'm sure the weight that I've gained isn't all muscle, but a lot of it is (of course, I've gained fat too, everyone does). I just got mentally prepared, hit the gym four days a week for an hour each time, ate three healthy, legit meals a day in between protein shakes, and got a lot of sleep. It also helps that I quit smoking and stopping drinking (heavily) for that period of time. I think a contributing factor to my gains was the fact that I was underweight at the time, so building muscle up to the normal size for my stature happened quickly, but getting gains over that required more work. I also switch up workout routines every 2 months so my body didn't build a tolerance a certain routine. I started on a push-pull routine. If you need any help on routines or supplements, let me know. Granted, I am still new to it all, but I've devoured all the information I've come upon since I've started. P.S. Keep in mind that the water mass from the creatine is also a contributing factor to my weight. Rayn 03-28-2008, 01:51 PM same thing happened to my brother he was a stick put on lots of weight. he needs to cool it now though cause he's starting to get fat like me. Challenge 03-28-2008, 02:11 PM Yeah, the problem with taking a lot of supplements is that if you stop working out, there is a good chance it will turn into fat. SL83 03-28-2008, 04:05 PM Yeah, the problem with taking a lot of supplements is that if you stop working out, there is a good chance it will turn into fat. Uhm... what? Do you mean if you keep taking the supplements? Cause muscle doesn't just turn into fat all of a sudden just because you used supplements to help put it on. gRraWr 03-28-2008, 08:18 PM I started hitting the gym seriously about 6 months ago at 6'1 145 lbs, and I am now 6'1 185 lbs. I do disagree that all creatine does is pump your muscles full of water, though. (It does do this, but that's not all it does) | ||
