My bad 600, regardless, no. You could do better looking at older or second hand gear for that price range.

An old fender twin goes for more.

Please, please, don't buy an imitation Marshall. Solid state power section, with a tube pre. Gimme a break.

For the style you play, Stil, just go get a nice JC120. If you must have tubes, then get a nice Framus or something. Just not a crappy kiddie-oriented hybrid amp.

This will start a craptacular storm but...

I challenge anyone to hear the differences between tubes - or even to identify a tube amp from a solid state one.
Or the difference between a '59 strat and a '79 strat.

Most ears are not that sensitive.

Like I mentioned, my dad sells tubes - he has for my entire life.
I have swapped tubes so many times in an effort to find a good sounding set that I drove him to get me a testing setup back in the '80s.
I can measure THD, Hiss, Power output levels, etc.

My pal who claims to hear the difference couldn't discern the difference between russian 6l6s and '60 vintage Slyvania jobber boxed tubes.

I currently have a '71-ish SuperSix Reverb and a 2000 small Marshall.
One tubes only - the other solid state.

I'd bet no one can identify which amp I use on anything. There is just too much distortion and added harmonics.

You're too fucking badass. Thats why you're asking if you should buy the same half stack that every n00b gets.
