No wonder one of the guys I know that sucks at games told me my 44 streak on console shipment wasnt shit. He said he got 60 on shipment regularly. I now understand why. I assumed he was full of shit because the more people the more the nades. Guess if you dont give them a chance to nade then it doesnt matter. Thats just ridiculous and a massive stat booster.

You'd have absolutely no chance in hell of even being decent on pc after playing on a console. It would take a while.
Servers that even run shipment are generally just crap servers meant for new players to level up to 55. That's it. Some dude has a 60 streak against people who got the game last week, nobody cares.

I was at my buddys the other day playin on his 360 and they were all amazed at me haha, i would get in the top 3 every round and i'm only mediocre on the PC.
[SES]BaNsHee 03-16-2008, 09:45 AM  The PC egos run rampant around here. It would take a week-2 weeks at best to be good at PC, and thats only because I havent used a mouse and kb hardly any over the last couple years and would need to adjust to it(tried recently and realized it would take a week to get used to it again). What drastic differences are there from PC to console? Dedicated servers, better graphics, and a lean button? Please do explain if Im missing something here...
Its not what platform you play, its knowledge of things like gametype smarts, maps, and having good aim. Throw in if you play with decent players and people communicating well. Anyone with these aspects are going to be good on PC or console. Theres a larger amount of FPS noobs on console, but theres also a large amount that has played Halo for years nonstop along with PC players, so its not exactly just a bunch of scrubs running around.
Pilky 03-16-2008, 10:46 AM I dunno man, PC is just so much quicker, when i was playin on the 360 it felt like i had all the time in the world. The aiming is just so much more precise with keyboard & mouse IMO.
[SES]BaNsHee 03-16-2008, 11:25 AM Im sure it is more precise, but its not an advantage as everyone has it, just like its not a disadvantage to play on console because everyone has a controller. Its really just a strafe and shoot game, so aim isnt very hard with a mouse or a controller. Im not sure how it can be more quick than console though. Its a port from the console make, or so Ive read. What did you play? TDM? The 6v6 TDM is horrible on 360 imo. We usually dont play the campfest gametypes like TDM and SnD that much. We usually play HQ and Dom so there is constant action. Ive played the PC version a couple times and never noticed any difference as far as speed of the game aside from the amount of players I was playing with(10v10 HQ I think it was).
g0ds gReeN 03-16-2008, 11:47 AM i.d. on the track?
also fuck shipment on pub servers. can't say that enough (but for the time being i'll only say it once)
20 max people and it's a fun close quarters map.
[SES]BaNsHee 03-16-2008, 11:54 AM I cant imagine it being fun on anything above 6v6. Theres so many nades in 6v6 on console its hard to imagine playing it on anything more.
I'm used to 6v6 after just scrimming on 5v5 so much now, but before that I liked the 20v20. It's just what you get used to, whatever size you play. Either way, shipment sucks for any size.
I believe you consolers would get good, just like any other ex-tribes gamer would get good at any pc game.. what I'm saying is console doesn't prep you for it.
However, I've had plenty of pc guys say they went on console and immediately owned, whether that's true or not, i don't know.. but I'd be more likely to believe that.
Is there a higher console ladder than TWL for 360?

Yah, I've heard that many many times about people who like play console once and their friends are like 'wow, you're awesome'. So there ya go, it seems to be a common theme with pc guys who even try the console.
[SES]BaNsHee 03-16-2008, 03:16 PM Theres several other than TWL, but this is the largest... 372 pages at 25 teams per page...God thats ridiculous

Azn_Essence 03-16-2008, 03:25 PM the 3x frag + martyrdom(the gayest faggit issue in this game) is gay enough on 6vs6
i cant see someone playing wetwork on 10vs10. that's 30 grades thrown at spawn :\

Pretty much all of us here played tribes at the very least
There are lots of console gamers, the teens, who never played quake, quake 2, tribes, UT on PC. Most of us were among the first wave of people playing FPS games online. If we wanted to be good at any FPS we can no matter what system you want to use.
Just a lot of us are tired of the shit that comes with PC gaming nowadays. Consoles are just so much better in my eyes when you add everything up nowadays. 6 months ago id have told you fuck off if you told me a controller could be fun for a FPS But 3 months of cod4 has changed my mind completly.
PC guys who get good at cod4 once they get the controls down are probably PC guys who have played FPS for years, thier twitch reflexes are just used to it.
PC gaming is dying off anyways, its making some money but outside of MMOs not very much.
Well, it's all about the fun, so whatever's working for you.
Cod4 still did well on PC, but yah, even for a game of the year with top sales, it's nothing compared to consoles.
{FSC}Godfather 03-16-2008, 04:53 PM also one giant difference
PC games are playing on servers, at least in my times I always had a few servers id only play on, id wait 30 minutes for a spot because I knew those servers were top notch
360 you cant get that, so sometimes you will get in a game with people who arent that good, but its less important for me because I just play games casually nowadays anyways.
Azn_Essence 03-16-2008, 05:14 PM i think everyone having a headset on a console equates into a lot more fun if you get the right people
sure you can get the idiot kids. But if you get a couple good people who uses voice, it's a lot more fun than playing on the pc by yourself
Streaks don't tell you anything. Streaks on shipment tell you even less.
There's a guy on PC running around with a 100+ kill streak. He really sucks. The rest of the map rotation he was lucky to maintain a 1:4 K-D ratio.
