If I archive these files, when I "search" will it search the archive also and show any pertaining results from it or do I have to specify that it needs to search the archive and inbox?
Does thunderbird have this same problem?
This is annoying, apparently my file is 2gb which is the limit so I can't pull mail now.

looks like you're on an old format. might want to figure out a way to convert it to the new one.
as for your question, the search will search whatever you specifiy. by default, it will not search the archives unless you tell it to.
