{FSC}Godfather 03-15-2008, 10:49 PM ive decided to save up around 2 grand to pickup an HDTV by summer probably. Ill have to learn as I know nothing about HD but I saw some Samsung 1080p 40 some inch ones for like 1500, seemed like a decent price but what do I know.
Its times like this I wish I would allow myself to take the 45-50k a year my degree makes me worth at this point instead of playing Africa. I am jelous of my buddies who took the cash and are able to buy all these pretty toys.
Then again if I wait a few years im sure 1080p is it thats the best now will be shit and Ill need a 2160x or some shit.
Azn_Essence 03-16-2008, 02:23 AM i run on a 21 inch tv
i cant see far so i resort to shotties :{
Bodom 03-16-2008, 11:10 AM are you sure that its not your azn eyes?
[SES]BaNsHee 03-16-2008, 11:30 AM I got a 55 inch 3LCD Sony Grand WEGA for $2400 after tax with stand and $400 5 yr warranty that covers everything. It doesnt do 1080p, but in all honesty, I couldnt tell that much of a difference when looking at the 720p and 1080p side by side running the same movie in the store to pay the price difference in the two.
g0ds gReeN 03-16-2008, 11:50 AM native 16:9 (16:10 are rare, probably on par with pokemans or something)
i play 8x6 on my pc (until i get a new vid card)

price difference between 720 and 1080 seems pretty large
If there is not much of a difference id probably get 720 myself

Sony 60" SXRD 1080p
I never knew what I was missing until I bought this tv. Games like CoD4 and Gears of War really stand out when played on this.

that's either a 60A2000 or a 60A3000
i hope its the latter, those tvs were BA. I almost got one instead of my projector. I have an SXRD projector.
i paid around $2800 for my pj, $280 for stand, and $300 for service. I think it was well worth it. If you have the room you can dedicate to one... I wouldn't think twice. The only thing you might have to get used is motion sickness ;)
i have the vpl-vw40 if you guys are curious.
FastAttack 03-16-2008, 09:26 PM shit this makes my little dell 2407fpw running at 1080p look like shit
although the sharpness of this screen makes up for it, even at long distances ;)
Bodom 03-17-2008, 12:47 PM my dad wanted to give COD4 a try just for fun but he got motion sickness too. must be the big screen thing
although twisted metal gave him motion sickness too way back on smaller screens
Vintage 03-17-2008, 04:44 PM 20" screen right hurr :)
Shadow13 03-17-2008, 08:48 PM I was on a 52" 1080i Rear projection. Wife would bitch she was missing her shows so I bought a 32" Aquos as an excuse that I needed to upgrade my monitor for my pc and I just on that now.
1080p, very nice screen has some quirks but what HDTV doesn't. I like it, I think I like it more then the huge tv to be honest because I don't have so much area to look at when trying to snipe.
{FSC}Godfather 03-17-2008, 09:27 PM is it true that under 40 or 50" you cant tell the difference between 720 and 1080, I always hear that but fucked if I know.
