Is RB6: Vegas 2 going to replace COD4?

Does the 360 CoD4 play on servers or is it also player hosted games? I've only had the game a short time now, but I've had nothing but great connections, not one instance of lag.

In comparison, playing V2, I rarely get a good connection in MP.

cod plays on player hosted games.. the game chooses the best host depending on upload and overall letancy ..

COD4 had some awesome MP connections for the first few months it was out. I was actually impressed with how smoothly things ran. It wasn't until the patch that connections started to get bad (maybe a few weeks before)

Lucky you. CoD4 has had horrible lag since the Christmas fiasco. Ground War has been completely unplayable for the most part as well. Throw in the patch connection problems, and it the biggest complaint you find on the CoD forums.

The problem with that is that it doesnt sort through how close everyone on the server is to this person. If youve got 11 people on the east coast, and the one on the west has the best connection, its a shit server. This has been at its worst since the patch.

They need to filter the countries first off, then filter Americans to East, Middle, and West. It would be great to go in and it ask which I wanted to play on and I pick East.

Its only been a rare couple of times that Ground War has been playable for me to the point of a fun game. The majority of the time it cant handle 18 players. Thats why I usually leave when more than 6 is invited.

Ive been playing RB6V2 all night with lag only being on 7v7 servers. 6v6 has been fine today. Hosting 6v6 is even better. :)

Ok, I bought Rb6:V2 two days ago, played it for like 12 hours, and went right back to COD4...
Granted I may dislike vegas more because I am not as good at it, I have some definite problems with it.
The fact that you switch to third person when against a wall and can see around corners without any of your body showing around the corner, is fucking gay. The physics engine is laughable; throw a grenade/c4 and watch it float up in the air and then float back down... Counterstrike was made over 8 years ago and the nade throws didn't look that fake. The xbox live online play setup is terrible. You can't simply join a game as a party, someone has to make a game, and then you have to play against your friends until more people arrive so you can switch around. You can only change your class when you are dead and spectating, but for whatever reason, if you are not able to respawn again, like if your team leader is dead, you can't change your class for the next game. The host has too much power, I've been kicked and banned from multiple games when I was the only guy left alive on the team opposing the host..., he also can start games immediately after the last one ends, not allowing anyone to change their classes. There are also a bunch of other little things that piss me off... no kill cam.... that's another...

Only one that bothers me out of all that is the matchmaking, which is horrible for this game. There is a killcam, but most people have it turned off, which it should be in this game. Never been kicked, but Ive seen a couple people get kicked when they were making room for more friends to join.

I went back to COD4 tonight for the first time since picking up rbsv2 and destroyed. I'm not sure what it was, but after I got readjusted back to the controls, everything seemed to be on for me.

I usually suck ass at COD4 and barely run 1:1.. tonight I had a 35-15 and a 21-12. Which is way better than I usually do.

The online matchmaking system in rbsv2 is pretty ghetto and needs a complete overhaul. COD and Halo did it right... just copy them.

Vegas 2 MP is pretty rough to say the least. Although last night was the first night I managed to get into a pub with a few of us and actually be able to play other randoms. The only thing I see a problem with is having a group of 6 people and the other team not waiting around for others to join. It seemed like the best way to go about things was to start off the first game 3v3 of just our guys and wait for people to join then switch them the next map.

I'm also a little surprised at the difference between 6v6 and 7v7. I haven't had too many successful 7v7's until Vespula hosted last night, I wouldn't figure it would make all that much of a difference. I'm getting used to vegas now and was really starting to enjoy our MP last night. I think I'm done with terrorist hunt now unless I just want to try out new guns.

;12970469']also, no jumping and no melee..... wtf???

Id like to see a melee, but they stated long ago that it was hard to get a melee that was just right, as in not overpowered or underpowered along with some other reasons they didnt include one in the first Vegas. As you can see, both Halo and CoD have overpowered melees. Its unbelievable how many times Ive put about 4-5 rounds into a guy for him to lunge at me from 10 ft away and kill me in CoD.

I prefer the no jumping on this game. I missed it a lot in the first Vegas, but it grew on me not having it for this game. Massive amounts of less glitches, no bunny hopping, and makes the game have a more realism and distinct feeling for me. Its a nice change up from people hopping around on CoD, including myself.

They could change some stuff to make this game really good, especially the matchmaking, but for the most part I enjoy it thoroughly...at least 6v6. 7v7 has some major lag issues.

Overall my changes/gripes would be...

-Matchmaking first and foremost.
-This game needs dedicated servers worse than any other 360 game as lag can be some serious issues and hosts have massive advantages, even to people who ping well.
-Could use a melee, but doesnt have to.
-There should be a 30 second countdown after the host starts the map to ensure everyone is ready and has classes made. Of course, since we usually play on one of our own servers with mostly 12+ friends, this is currently not a big deal.
-Certain maps could use more spawn exits. Theres a few maps that only have two exits and once youre spawn camped on this game, youre practically fucked. But this is the same for most games I guess, considering the amount of spawn raping Ive done on numerous games over the years.
-Did I say a better matchmaking?
-Shotguns need to be nerfed in the range dept. Ive shot people from roof to roof with one shot on killhouse.

I'm not a big fan of the hopping to avoid fire part of COD4 but can you at least climb over stuff in RBSV2?

Yea, the first couple of nights we played RB6V we had matches in TDM for #1 and HQ #1. We absolutely fuck smashed both of those games without even warming up. Its like it made us play better because of how easy it is to aim in CoD. Last night we had a match but the other team didnt show. After playing so much Vegas recently I was having some problems while warming up with the Sprint and Grenade buttons. After a round of pistoling though, I felt pretty good.
