Need a bit of help picking a PA

It's for me and my kids messing around in the house.
Needs to be louder than drums.
It will have 3 mics and a keyboard plugged into it for sure. maybe an electric acoustic plugged in.

Anybody have any experience with low-end PAs?

Musicians friend has PAs for under $500. but when you read the reviews you can tell they are clueless people. everyone for the most part loves what THEY bought no matter how shitty it is. (i know this since I've had to return things I bought based on reviews)

So what is entry level?
On Musicians friends best selling PA page
Buy live sound packages, PA systems, portable PA systems, portable sound systems, speaker packages online. (http://www.musiciansfriend.com/navigation/live-sound-packaged-systems?N=100001%2b304603&Ns=P_Score%7c1&page=1)

they have a $750 Kustom listed first (looks to be, garage/bar band level)
After that they have 2 Phonic PAs. one is $279 @ 200watts the next is $375 @ 440watts.

There is 1 more, Behringer?, for $750.

after that is the $2500 Bose
followed by $1000 Yamaha

All I need is for my kids yamaha keyboard to be louder than a drum set. right now he is plugged into a 15 watt, 20 yr old, $120, Peavey Bass amp. lollz

I want it to sound better than that at least, and and be able to handle voice fairly well.

Will those Phonics be enough? The 440 watt, $375 one I would think would be enough power to sound loud without overdriving it, making it sound crappy and/or feeding back.

but I don't know.

Sometimes when we don't feel like lugging our guitarist's guitar amp up to the attic for practice he uses my 80 Watt Kustom PA head with 1x12" Kustom PA speaker and a distortion pedal and it's louder than our drummer, who plays hard.

How about getting an amp and speaker cabinet from eBay?
I saw a 12 inch Kustom cabinet they wanted $75 for.

an amp?
for the mics and keyboard, and acoustic electric? (maybe a mic'ed acoustic)

I did that years ago. Bought a Peavey Keyboard amp (it's gone now) pretty cheap. It had 2 inputs. we sang out of 1 mic and had a drum machine hooked in.

it was ghetto.

I figured the PA would be helpful for recording too.
plus I have a baby grand I want to mic also.

just seems like something with more inputs would be better suited.

I'd get the Behringer over the Kustom if you're spending in that range. The Phonics look lile a deal for that price range.
