linkx2251 02-21-2008, 12:20 AM hey tw,
im 16 years old and used to weigh ~197. i know, ridiculous. i didnt look too bad, thankfully im 6'1, but i decided i needed to lose some weight.
to start off, i started cutting proportions and eating healthier ALOT MORE. instead of eating 4 pieces of pizza, i would eat two, or instead of going to wendys and getting a 8 piece with a large fry, id go and just get a 4 piece. one thing that i thnk has helped immensely is that i dont drink pop anymore- used to have 1-2 cokes a day, now i havent had a single coke since january 5th almost ( all water baby ). im also doing 30-1hr of treadmil at a good run everyday until it gets warmer outside so i can start running out there, because i know the treadmil does a little work for you.
so, any tips/tricks kinda like that TW can suggest?
thanks

linkx2251 02-21-2008, 10:27 AM no no. I used to have fast food every 1 or two weeks... not anymore though, just giving an example if I happen to go to fast food with friends or something
BeLiaL 02-21-2008, 10:42 AM Rayn, we (meaning you) should write up a little Beginner FAQ for this forum and stickie it... the same questions must get asked at least once a day:
How do I lose weight?
and
What's a good lifting schedule/diet plan?
Denver 02-21-2008, 10:57 AM Here's an idea how to get started while still having fun.
Start a hobby (martial arts, team sport, dance, parkour whatever), something you're intrested in. Start it with a friend and have fun.
Dieting and all that stuff is good, but hard to commit to. If you approach this from the point of having fun, you'll be more motivated and the results come while doing something you enjoy.
Not saying forget about diet and eat whatever you want.

This thread reeks of lies because as far as I know there's only a 5 piece option for nuggets at wendy's, unless it's really been that long since my last time at wendy's....

The problem is their isn't teedub consensus on good lifting/workout plan. I don't think for instance what blazindave does is totally invalid. Likewise, a heavy lifting schedule like rayn's wouldn't be perfect for a guy who wants to be skinny with a 6 pack. So, if that faq gets made it should include lots of differnt answers to each question.
Rayn, we (meaning you) should write up a little Beginner FAQ for this forum and stickie it... the same questions must get asked at least once a day:?I know but I just don't have time to write it and no one else appears to either :P
edit: also I started writing one of these back in the day and realized that it was going to be controversial, so I started trying to put in other points of view, and it became too much of a mess so I lost interest.
a guy who wants to be skinny with a 6 pack.these people are girly men, but seriously, you could write generally enough to include these people in a FAQ.
I would recommend the guy who wants to be skinny do the same workout anyway, just with less weight and minimal increases. Then I'd call him a girly man again.
Rev_Night 02-21-2008, 12:29 PM how about if you want to be medium size (175-215) with a six pack?
starting lifting like you want to be big with a 6 pack but stop before you get there?

This is why we have the stickied thread up top! No writing for us involved :P
Great ideas for people looking for different body types
gRraWr 02-21-2008, 01:13 PM 6'1'' 200 lbs isn't bad
at that weight you just need to lift a lot or you get fat
Rev_Night 02-21-2008, 01:25 PM starting lifting like you want to be big with a 6 pack but stop before you get there?
