So I have been doing it for awhile, but I still think my form sucks.
How far apart should your feet be when doing squats? I have been watching youtube videos, and there seems to be a wide variety of stances. My main problem is not being able to go as low as the videos show, could it because my feet aren't far enough apart?
On the deadlift, whenever I'm in position to lift up the barbell, there is a shit load of tension on my lower thighs trying to have proper form.

You should use a stance for squats that is comfortable for you and allows you to go all the way down. If you can't go all the way down, it's possible that you just don't have the flexibility yet. Try to stretch everyday, and when you do squat, at least go past parallel.
As for deadlift, I can't tell what you're describing.
if you can't go low enough with squats, take a slightly narrower stance and try again.
unsure what is going on with the deadlifts.

For the deadlift, I was wondering if that high tension is normal. I only feel it at the very beginning when I'm about to lift the barbell. Its like I'm trying to reach too far for the bar, and for some reason its puting a lot of tension on my lower thighs.
well the bar should be on your shins and your legs should be bent to just about parallel, back arched, chest out, shoulders back, arms straight.

Yeah I think it has something to do with flexibility which is a major weakness of mine.
