If you were waiting for fresh parts to launch to allow you to upgrade to the latest and greatest, or to snaffle some current stuff after a hefty price cut, then your time is fast approaching. It looks like NVidia will launch its first series 9 card on the 21st of Feb.
GeForce 9600 GT graphics cards will be priced at around US$169-189, with GeForce 8600 GTS pricing expected to be adjusted to the US$139-149 range, revealed the sources.

so basically its going to perform similar to an 88000 GT but cost 50 or so dollars less?

I'VE GOT A 9800 PRO AND OBVIOUSLY 9800 > 9600 SO I WIN
