Mozilla Messaging is the new name of the company previously referred to as MailCo. A subsidiary of the Mozilla Foundation, Mozilla Messaging is tasked with handling the Thunderbird product, while the rest of the company focuses its efforts on Firefox. David Ascher, Mozilla Messaging's CEO, outlined the plans for the new company and Thunderbird in his blog (http://ascher.ca/blog/2008/02/19/mozilla-messaging/) post. Immediate plans for Thunderbird 3 include:
* integrated calendaring (building on the great work done by the Mozilla Calendar team and their Lightning add-on to Thunderbird),
* better search facilities,
* easier configuration,
* and a set of other user interface improvements.
