Tank and alchemy questions

yo i have a question for all u tank out there. whats a good threat meter for dungeons and raids? i am currently lvling a prot pld at 65 now and need to find a good one soon. and for alchemy does it matter where u are when u do mutes and make pots to make discoveries? is there a higher chance in main cities or shattrath or is it just as likely in the wilds of lets say zangarmarsh. i only ask cause i hear people making discoveries at like 301 Aand 302 and i'm 370 and haven't discovered shit.

I concur with post #2 and #3.

Discovery is usually a random 1% (or less) chance to get something every time you make a potion/elixir/transmution over 300 and like people said it's dumb luck. I have only gotten Flask of Pure Death and that was around 368. The more useful discoveries are cauldrons but they are probably hard to get than normal discoveries. It's like a table of refreshment for Protection Potions. But you only discover them brewing their respective greater protection potions. I remember buying herbs to brew about 60 Greater Arcane Protection potions to try and get a cauldron, it didn't work and I had spent about 50g on mats.

As for location discoveries can occur anywhere. Just the other day I was doing some work on my bank alt in Orgimmar and a lvl 53 priest near the mailbox discovered something. It was a pushed crafter though, I know you can get Master crafting at lvl 50 assuming you can get a port to Shatt and make it to Thrallmar/Honor Hold from there.

i do mana to fire all the time now. i get 2-8 primal manas per day depending on how many characters i do my dailies with. i was doing earth to water but i have 40 waters banked and low on fire.

I do primal might because proc rate for transmute master is supposedly borked (except for primal might transmute) until 2.4.
