i think i'd rather have a ghost in the shell type future than matrix/terminator..

for one, humans don't get erradicated
secondly, you can hack people's brains for unlimited ammounts of fun

What the fuck is this supposed to mean?

I'm sure if we wired enough machines together today, we could "match man". It doesn't really matter if a computer the size of rhode island is as smart as man, it'd just be one man. Not to mention computers would have to have an artificial learning system devloped...lord knows how long that'll take to devolop, in conjunction with how the AI is affected by environmental/human factors.

It'll be a long time, long long time before we can create something that is like a Terminator. My specially trained group of scientists tells me 2250 is likely when it will happen.

in the end, i'm pretty sure it's easier to just have sex.

on the other hand, if these scientists could get laid, they probably wouldn't be spending their time trying to make machines more like people.

it's been along time coming. but I'd place my bets on 2040 for sure.

eventually we'll merge with machines (to your desired degree). and machines will take dominance. but that's ok, the machines will be us.
