How do we know what version we're running?

Tools -> Greasemonkey -> Manage User Scripts...

Click on "Tribalwar Image Embedder" -- in the description at the top right it should have the version (ex: "v1.1a")

Moving to the policy forum ... need to think of a better way to promote this ... maybe some kind of package deal with a TW toolbar?

nope, no version number in the description. Probably an early version?

Do I need to uninstall first then install the newest?

Okay, I resisted but now I finally got it.
So simple and elegant, but such a great feature. I bow to you good sir. <3

This was totally my idea and I didn't even get credit. What a shithead.

Two days before this thread was created:
Wish it worked for linked images that aren't in NWS tags. Just add an event to the link itself to use jscript to turn the link into an image. That'd be neat. If I get time, maybe I'll do that.

hmpf!

You know what would also be neat? Enumerate all of the images that are found on the page, stick 'em in an array, and use an access key and/or a link to slideshow or lightbox that shit.

Here's an example of such a script that I posted in GA a long time ago.

http://xpdnc.org/dumpydooby/files/pictures/slideshow-screenshot.jpg

The navigation buttons on the bottom scroll through all of the images that are found on the page. If you look closely at my screenshot, you can see that the overlay is on TribalWar.com. This wasn't Greasemonkey, though. I just used the javascript: pseudo-protocol to do that.

edit:
Oh, and... "Thanks Dumpy Dooby for the idea."

There, I said it for you. :p

Hate to triple-post, but I gotta add something: You should take out the javascript pseudo-protocol for the links. Just add the event and return the function's output (returning the function's output will override the click of the link). Keep the link itself intact because people might still want to open the images in a new window (for whatever reason, y'know?).

You seem to be savvy, but in case you didn't know, the term for this is "graceful degradation."

Am I the only person having problems installing this?

New User Script... blah blah blah Name, click OK and nothing happens.
