[Warrior] Arena + weapons

So I'm stuck trying to figure out what to do in terms of a weapon for arena; currently using Gorehowl.
The only arena teams I can find net me about 2-300pts a week with 1k banked.
I have blacksmithing @ 215.
ZA/BT weapon(s) are out of the question.

It seems a personal rating of 1850 will cost me about 1500g and arena pts seem to average around 2g per 3pts. With vortexes possibly being purchasable in 2.4, do I finish BS and opt for a t2/t3 weapon or go for a S3?

When it comes to warrior's in arenas it's the type of weapon you use. Axes/poles are considered to be the worst because resilience rapes crit change anyway. You might be the only axe warrior in arenas. In arenas below 1900's maces are prevailent, especially in twos. From what you say about your current rating is low so I think maces are the way to go. With that said, I would suggest you just farm out the 30k honor and buy the s1 mace. Mace spec is OP in 2v2's and if you can just get yourself a mediocre resto druid, you can crank your 2's rating up in no time. Whatever you choose to do, get away from axe spec in pvp as fast as you can.

Yes I know axe spec is the worst spec, that wasn't what I was asking. S1 for the time invested isn't worth it. The question is t2/t3 vs s3.

vortexes are buyable, as are primal nethers (still) next patch. blacksmithing isn't *that* hard to level, and given a few kara runs the tier 3 versions are going to be very accessable. and they still hit like fucking mack trucks being driven by a ninja. just because there's technically better available, doesnt mean they aren't pretty damn good.

on my warrior i made thunder and then burned out trying to get the nethers for deep thunder. But that was before badges were given out like candy. But it cost so much to get BS up, particularly from where you are atm to 300 and again from 350-375 to make the rank two. Basically the amount of farming and the cost was enough to make me leave my warrior. He's still sitting around with Thunder, 7 nethers, and 375 BS. I could easily log on and nab one more nether, but I'm still so sick of the grind that I dislike the thought of it.

That is my story of trying to go the BS route, take from it what you will.

Technically, the S3 weapons are better, however there is a chance Blizzard will create a T4 of blacksmithing at some point in the future--rumors of the Eng. flying machine were true, which I posted here after talking to a source of mine. I've heard mentions of another look at blacksmithing, but it's less certain than the engineering stuff, and even that took months before it came out on live, so it could be quite some time.

Personally, I'd go with the S3 stuff. Getting blacksmithing up to 375 is both expensive as shit and time consuming (even more so if you're actually going to farm most of it instead of buying the mats). They'll both probably come out around the same price, depending on the way you go about leveling smithing and how bloated your server's prices are. I bit the bullet one day and just bought everything I needed for a few days and then ground it to 375 in the next day or so. It was stupid expensive and at this point I regret not having just farmed my stuff.

given the fact that blizzard seems to have decided to make crafting relatively useful on a personal level in the expansion to start, and then adding new stuff which is best in slot more recently, it stands to reason that even if they dont add a fourth tier of weapon/armor for blacksmiths that they would continue that trend in the next expansion and that skilling up your trade skills is in general time and money well spent.

if you get some use out of it in the meantime (and you absolutely will) that seems like a pretty nice bonus. When they add a new set of weapons and armor in wotlk you might kick yourself for not biting the bullet and working it up to current max now.

I still use Deep Thunder and find it to be an exceptional weapon. I saw that vortexes will be available in 2.4 with 15 badges and 7g, but I'm unsure if they can be sold on the AH. From the looks of the test realm, both primal nether and nether vortex are not bind on pickup anymore. Can anyone confirm this?

also giving that once wotlk comes out, bc prices will probably go thru the roof, cuz noone is farming that shit (much like 60- crafting stuff is now).

i wouldn't try to guess as to whats going to end up as final re: nethers/vortexs and bop/boe until the patch actually hits. doesn't make much sense that they cost 15 badges and also be boe though. is there anything else currently boe that can be purchased with badges?
