WoW -> PvP -> 2008 World of Warcraft Arena Tournament FAQ (http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/pvp/tournament/faq.xml)

Pre-made level 70s of any class with top-of-the-line gear. Fuck; this is what I dreamed of when I used to play.

Nevermind the fact that the prize money is sick (and yes I think I have a legit shot at winning some of it if I can convince my two partners that I went to WSVG Louisville with to come out of retirement).

After going nearly 10 months without even owning a PC capable of running WoW, I think I'm finally coming back to this game.

# Have a valid credit card to pay the per-competitor registration fee for the tournament, which is €15/£12 in Europe; 20,000 won in South Korea; $20 in North America; and NT$450 in the regions of Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau for each six-week qualification round that the competitor participates in.

Edit:

Anybody know what the eligibility requirements are?

I was wondering this too, they're kind of unclear about if/how you qualify. It might just be that you pay your 20$ and you get to make a character on the tourney realm?

so it's like paying for 2 accounts? Wonder how long the copy would last on the realm. How stupid, WoW sucks.

If I'm reading it right, you pay 20$, you get a character for the 6 week qualification round. If you qualify, you're done. I'm not sure if you need a regular account first, or if there is a limitation on what class you can play on the tourney realm based on what you have on your live account.

You can make any class you want.

Each account gets 3 characters

Each team gets 6 characters

I think that's what I read

Do you know how qualification works? Is it just a rating threshhold, or is it an elimination tourney (it's gotta be rating threshold right?)

Top 4 teams from each qualifier round move on

If the top 4 team has already qualified, the next highest does.

You can qualify with up to six characters on the team, but only three players are allowed to attend the regional finals. Most likely the top teams will consist of three players, and the six character slots will be taken up by them and selected alts, to allow counter-comping.

If they're doing 3v3 they might as well just have the top 10 teams have a rock paper scissors tournament...should be 5s.

i agree. kinda of silly for them to state they balance for 5's, but then make a 3's tourny. why? cuz more people will sign up for 3's

I guess this is their way around all the issues they had before... when top teams had people playing toons on accounts that had a different name registered to it... and were DQ'd at the end when people had to verify personal info for travel/prizes etc.

I imagine if you have any concern about "eligibility" of your account, you can just go buy a shiny new copy of wow and tbc and go to town.
