Osiris 02-14-2008, 05:41 PM Someone in S1 gear can't be crit by mobs, so yeah...
Oh well, they don't have mitigation for shit nevertheless. And tanking in 3/5 is gay. The only worthwhile piece of glad to tank in is the shoulders (plate)
ViRtuOsity 02-14-2008, 06:10 PM There's a difference between normal 70 instance tanking blues and lvl 65 quest blue/greens. Maybe you need to learn to read.
what +2 or 3 stats ?
thats all the change is unless theyre rocking they're set then.. meh theyre fault not yours
Astrial 02-14-2008, 06:47 PM Fuck off with your semi green gear and lvl 65 blues. Fuck off thinking you can tank in s1 Gladiator, fuck off if you can't hold aggro on more than 1 target.
Seriously the quality of tanks (all 3 classes) have gone to fuck shit and piss lately. It's so fucking annoying.
also see: crappy dps'ers and crappy healers.
that's my bitch about moving the heroic keys to Honored instead of revered, so many people trying to run heroics just from doing the quests.
Well the problem existed before the revered/honored switch. Any idiot can make it through the earlier instances with a few good players. Then they adopt a "Oh this is easy we flew through it last night no problem!" attitude and get you wiped 10 times.
slick spic 02-14-2008, 07:38 PM s1 arena gear is actually good for starting druid tanks and i think would probably serve in a heroic. probably easier to get, also. it provides higher armor and sta, decent agi for dodge, enough str to have good threat, and the resil makes you uncrittable.
hell, even for t6 druids (of which i am one), some will argue that things like the pvp bracers are the best tanking bracers in the game, simply for the stats and resil.
Heavy Clefthoof Vest - Items - World of Warcraft (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=25689) is one of the common starting chests for druids who just hit 70 and will usually use this for a long time, until they get a tier piece. Gladiator's Dragonhide Tunic - Items - World of Warcraft (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=28130) only drops 71 armor, but has a grip more stats
Manimal's Cinch - Items - World of Warcraft (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=30942) is one of the best starting tanking belts in the game for druids. it's green, it's a quest item. but you won't replace it until you can get Tree-Mender's Belt - Items - World of Warcraft (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=29264) (from a heroic) or the badge one, or spend a fuckload and get one of the epic crafted ones
so long as the tank knows what they're doing, why do you give a fuck what they're wearing? when shit goes downhill and someone like cc fucks up, it falls on the tank (and healer, i know) to pick it up and try to save the pull. tanks are usually the ones that get blamed for wipes, but i think that's kinda stupid. just do your job and let other ppl worry about themselves
Smaqaho 02-14-2008, 07:44 PM I am one of the tanks you speak of, fucking deal with it. It takes badges to get gear to tank better, it's as simple as that. Karazhan is 22 badges a week, it takes probably 200 badges to get most of the full badge tanking set so I know I'll be slummin' it up when my tanking gear is more up to speed. Until then it's Karazhan and holding other peoples' heroic runs down!
Osiris 02-14-2008, 10:16 PM Here's a list of stuff I had before I ever sat foot inside Karazhan (or any heroic).
I made it for a guildie that wanted to know what kind of prot gear to aim for.
Plus, there's tons more of similar stuff. So either you're a lazy douche or you're a douche.

Hmm looking at that list I already have most of it (better in some slots than what you listed) but I'm still only at 464def and just shy of 13% dodge+parry and just under 13k ac. I won't tank a heroic though until I at least hit defense cap.

and if you cant identify your tanks gear and manage aggro accordingly why run with them?
Do you not realize when you /inspect about how much threat hes gonna make?
Are you guys running no aggro meters?
Seems like playing to the level of your tank would be the experience move
slick spic 02-15-2008, 05:47 AM i've never used threat meters in heroics and i've never had a problem. it's a fuckin heroic
before i started raiding again, ppl would ask if i had omen. i would tell them yes, and that it was on (omen of clarity hohoharhar i'm so funny). i don't understand why ppl flip out
Osiris 02-15-2008, 06:50 AM and if you cant identify your tanks gear and manage aggro accordingly why run with them?
I'm mainly talking spending 30 minutes looking for a tank and getting him there only to find he has crappy gear that wont cut it or will probably make shit frustrating.
It's also kind of hard to play on the level of your tank when he doesn't know how to use Swipe (druid). Worst part is he had decent gear :/

i spent about a week gathering up tank gear. +def was tough for me to get since I had trashed a lot of earlier quest stuff but I'm sitting at 492 def now. The aldor breastplate put me over the top.
wow they let people in heroics at honored now? gay....
Falhawk 02-15-2008, 09:24 AM see, I don't understand why that's gay
basically you're saying "Wow they are letting people get to content without grinding instances for hours? That's gay. We should punish them!"

It's gay because undergeared people go there and cause nothing but anger and frustration of others.
Falhawk 02-15-2008, 10:07 AM oh, well I don't pug so w/e
JustinCase 02-15-2008, 10:11 AM I have my druid up to 17.5k armor, 11k unbuffed health, 24% dodge and 406 defense
wonder if i can tank a heroic hmmmmm
TonyElTigre 02-15-2008, 12:53 PM It's gay because undergeared people go there and cause nothing but anger and frustration of others.
well then i guess you would prefer to have no tanks at all
see, I don't understand why that's gay
basically you're saying "Wow they are letting people get to content without grinding instances for hours? That's gay. We should punish them!"Because you actually need to run the instance non-heroic to get gear good enough to run it heroic. Believe me, I hate time sinks, but heroics are hard to pug, and having a bunch of noobs that haven't even run it regular trying to get in there probably makes it a nightmare.
Fal you've always run with a guild group so you gotta see it from a PUG perspective.
