I'm currently an arms warrior in s1 gear (with some felsteel that'll be replaced by pvp gear). I am around 4 weeks away from being able to afford the s2 greatsword if I wanted to stay arms. I could buy the s2 1h sword today and likely buy the s1 offhand by the end of the week. However I really only started doing pvp/arena to get better gear for pve. My guild is very small and we have no aspirations of doing 25 man instances, in fact we're only just about to start karazhan.
So, I was thinking of switching to fury since it seems more viable considering my gear limitations. With fury I'll be a better OT/dps warrior for karazhan (I have a set of tanking gear that I'd switch to when OT'ing).
I'm trying to research this stuff to strengthen my decision but all forums that talk about arms vs fury are really talking about T6 stats and equipment...I'll never see that stuff.
So what do you guys think?

i was thinking the same exact thing.
Arms dps seems like a lot of work.. where fury just seems like a Rage filled slaughter.

at your level, with the s2 weapons...fury will be much better for kara than arms. Just make sure you get your hit rating up (pvp gear is aweful for hit rating for DW). Arms pve dps doesn't start to shine till you get into 25 man stuff and the extra 4% melee damage can really stack up.

yeah I definitely need to work on my +hit. it sucks now but every guide says not to socket for it so I have to figure something else out.

Fury is always better personal DPS, Arms is only good because of Blood Frenzy. In a 10 man with limited melee, it's definitely not worth it.

I know arms seems like more work, timing your slams to keep from clipping auto attacks, but fury is just as rotation driven as a solid arms dps set up.
This is the classic 17/44 fury build:
Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft (http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=LG0xkhbZVV0VGxRVu qo)
The key to fury is maximizing your GCDs, which is why you put 1 point into Imp. Whirlwind, keeping the Blood Thirst and Whirlwind cooldowns from popping at the same time. During the fight instead of waiting for white hits you'll be going something like:
0: BT
1.5: WW
3: Global cool down free
6: BT
7.5: Global cool down free
10.5: WW
12: BT
13.5: Global cool down free
15: Global cool down free
18: BT
19.5: WW
Rage permitting, you'll be weaving heroic strikes in (threat permitting as well) for added damage, though never at the risk of not being able to use your CD on its pop. The other free GCDs where you're not refreshing a shout or something I usually use hamstring. It's not a lot of damage but it crits as much as anything else and the extra flurry charges = win.
Given equal gear, fury will pretty much outperform arms dps until you break the SSC/TK gear barrier. Once you're into BT and Hyjal DPS plate picks up enough that a good player and a solid melee group can go toe-to-toe with a fury warrior's DPS. Not to mention, they have Blood Frenzy, and when you have 2 rogues, an enhancement shaman, and a few hunters all putting out 2k+ DPS per person that 4% adds up.
