Spinning... gay or not

I did not know what spinning was before I joined my current gym, but it's just a cycling class set to music with an instructor.

I avoided it for over 1/2 year despite hearing that it's a good cardio workout. Recently I started... it's mostly moms and old dudes, but it's actually a pretty good workout. the 1hr goes by pretty fast, which is a lot more cardio than I usually do. I also sweat a ton more than any other cardio.

This is a true story: I had an instructor of questionable sexual orientation, this issue of orientation was brought into greater question when the song selection turned to "Can you feel the love tonight" by Elton John. The instructor had us do a move known as "jumps" in the spin circle, which involves standing up and sitting back down on the saddle repeatedly. Halfway through the violation of my posterior set to the soulful ballad of Elton John, the faggotry of the situation dawned on me. I wept on the inside as the instructor gave me a smirk and a wink*.

*I might have imagined the smirk and wink.

hehe
I might have to add that song to my workout playlist. :D

anyways I don't consider getting in shape gay, unless your cardio workout is shopping with the girlfriends!

wow, I don't know what I thought spinning was, but I didn't know it was cycling. I stay away from the classes because I am afraid of middle aged people

i found spinning at my gym when i moved here... the free class (intro) was with a questionable individual and was all calm and zen whatever. overall it was a good work out....

my schedule at the time only allowed me to attend the morning classes taught by another instructor and omg what a difference. first off she is a milf!!!! all the trophy wives and medically enhanced women of the area go to this class and the instructor is mean and yells alot. over all it is great!!!

closet BDSM? hah.

And for the OP... nah, not gay. If you feel ok in those groups just go for it. I know my dad and step mom do it and a lot of my other relatives and all the stories I hear it sounds like the classes kick your ass. Hell, at the LEAST you know its better than sitting at home watching TV.

I've watched people do this. In my gym the treadmills all face the spin bikes. It looks like a hell of a workout when you get the right person leading you.

i don't do spin classes myself because at my gym they are not free, but I know they are hardcore. The premise behind spin is anyone can do it, but the more hardcore and serious you take it, the better your workout. the instructor is there to guide/lead but you work at your own intensity/fitness level. it's not for homos only, but you probably won't want to join up if you'r a homophobe

p.s. update your damn thread crazymike!
