PessimiStick 02-04-2008, 10:02 AM We raid t6 content with 4 mages and did it with 4 all through ssc/tk, it's fine as long as they don't suck and can put out 1k dps or more
But if given the choice between recruiting a mage and something else, you'd be a tard to take the mage. That's really the point being made.
JustinCase 02-04-2008, 10:41 AM eh, I really don't wanna get into the mage argument, we can do just as much dps as other classes, every fight favors a certain class though
Yea but those other DPS classes don't die as easily and bring more utility beyond Food and sheeps.
DeadlyRabbit 02-04-2008, 11:11 AM Too bad we can't transfer the 4 gbank slots over, I picked up a few of the last crappy things left in the bank before moving DR, I just deleted the tanking gear to make room... suckers.

RebelToRumble 02-04-2008, 12:03 PM RIP Mages :'(

Any fight mages can do a ton of DPS on, Warlocks can do more.
JohnnyX 02-04-2008, 04:49 PM Well I'm kind of banking on them fixing mages at some point (though it's looking to be no sooner than WotLK). I really only rolled one because I had never played one before, and tbh I probably should have rolled a healer because mages are probably the second worst class in the game at this point, only useful because of food and poly. The time investment to level another character isn't something I'm interested in currently though, with school taking up most of my days, I only have evenings free, and it would take forever to level up a character. I've had a priest, rogue, warlock, shaman, and now a mage, I didn't want to play a class I had already done before, though I actually liked my priest quite a bit.
Also, the min/maxing arguments can be put out the window. I'm not interested in it. I really just play to have fun and pvp a bit. If I was interested in all that min/max bullshit I would be fire instead of frost.
I'm just gonna gear as best I can, not be a retard, and whatever DPS I do, that's what I do. I'm fairly confident that DPS will still be better than 90% of the WoW scrubs when I'm done or close to done gearing up.
DeadlyRabbit 02-04-2008, 05:57 PM ok if you go to Onyxia we have /tribes chat room like usual, the guild is called <Skillz that Killz>
edit: stk was taken
Smaqaho 02-04-2008, 06:10 PM But if given the choice between recruiting a mage and something else, you'd be a tard to take the mage. That's really the point being made. They're about to start in on t5 content. At that point in progression mages are just fine.
As holes are found in the roster people will reroll to fill in the gaps rather than recruit from outside (worked for us, atleast) so having 4 mages today may be 2-3 in 6 months. We started TBC with 6 or 7 mages and now we're down to 3 (only 2 are generally in a raid most of the time, if 3 are in one always drops after trash clear to a boss). All but one of our mages raids with their PVP specs so their DPS is lower than it could be, but really it seems like they don't even try to be competetive. One switched mains to a resto druid (ironically named Kaboomkin), and another is planning to switch mains to a holy paladin perhaps in 2.4 which will leave us with 3 mages total.
Gringo just move your rogue anyways if you don't play it a ton. I tossed my alt warrior over and will probably not do more than 10mans with Adren's guild but they're all a shitton of fun to play with so it'll give me a good reason to play my alt. Playing my main these days is a chore with a guild that does absolutely nothing 5 days a week then magically 30-32 people login 2 nights for BT.
ShOrTy BoI 02-04-2008, 06:22 PM im in onyxia also invite me
2bad4u 02-04-2008, 06:27 PM I played on onyxia for months before the server transfer. I played alliance so this may not hold true, but the population situation was fucking horrible. I had to quit the server simply because it was desolate, and friends told me horde side was no better. I sure hope to shit the transfers added some people, because ot really sucked before. Good luck to those who transferred and let me know how it is after a while.

according to realm stats (bla bla doesnt have to be 100% accurate)
onyxia population is roughly 10k and 3:1 horde ratio
tich is 25k and 2:1
keep in mind these are total discovered unique players but can give a rough idea regarding activity.
GeneralHell 02-04-2008, 09:07 PM I'll roll a rogue or priest there, who do I message for an invite?

Wouldn't the whole population thing be a moot point if the TW guild plans on raiding? I mean as long as they have the stable numbers to raid however long/often they want wouldn't it not matter how many other people are playing in the realm?
I would think that would only really affect BGs and even then if you're in a good battlegroup it should help out more than just the realm itself.
Gwaihir 02-05-2008, 12:08 AM No shit do you need a Warlock? Most of my guild just dissolved on Darkspear and I want to be with a group of people that can will reliably progress in PvE. I will transfer my character over this week if you do.
