360 in game MOTD

Says there are PC mod tools out now and some map contest

does this mean we will probably get a map pack for 360 soon?

Im sure we will have to pay a few bucks for it too right?

I dunno. I hope so. Gladly pay them for putting some new maps together.

It seems as if IW is putting the idea in their head that they can get modders & mappers to provide extra content in CoD4 for free instead of doing the work themselves.
The last patch did literally nothing to gameplay (where there are a ton of bugs to be fixed) except make changes to modding ability.

If they carry this over to the xbox I'll be dumbfounded. IW is so idiotic.

I think you misread it wrong. Hes asking if we will get a new map pack, not a mod/mapping editor. Our patch is already set to fix the bugs on 360. The host migration insert was found to be bugged when they sent it for microsoft certification, so they are still working on that.

They have been asked about new maps for 360 already and declined comment while basically saying they might have been working on a few already, but I dont read a lot into it. It does allow them to get a few bucks off of people on 360, so I would imagine they wouldnt let that slide by for simply throwing a map pack together.

While youd like to have an IW official made map pack

What would be wrong in having a contest, picking the best ones, giving the maker credit on the loading screen and putting the best in a map pack?

and ya I know the modtools are for PC, but what I meant was it would be nice to be able to get access to the best PC maps available for the 360 via what i mentioned above

I just read on cod forums that they have the contest for map making, and even if you make it for the 360 and win, it doesnt mean it will go to it, and vice versa for the PC. Im kind of confused by that, but not sure what to believe. If they are good maps, I dont care where they come from. I think its kind of cool that they are including the community in it. Ive also read 'rumors' that fourtwozero told someone they had another 5 maps they all liked but were not right for gameplay by production cut off. They have been working on them and going to fix it up. Ive also heard of Halo and GoW map remakes being submitted in the contest. I wonder if they can do that? Id like to see a couple maps from CoD3 remade. That was one thing they excelled in on that game.

is ctf gonna be in the patch for 360 or not?

if not i'm just gonna sell it.
