Sooo we never have enough people showing up to matches and it's been hurting us for a while. I don't have the time to keep recruiting people. Do any teams need 1-3 players to fill out their roster? It would be me and 1-2 others who are good enough that I'd bring with me, the others are way too casual for my taste. I'd like to play at least 1 match or scrim a week to be happy :)

You'd have to ask Juke or Blight or TTHREAZ.
We were thinking about signing up on some 8 v 8 ladder or something I think.

I really enjoy the 7 v 7 TWL rules (2 of each class) more then the 6 v 6 'your medic dies you lose' rules.

We're hoping we can go for #1 tonight..

Only because that's the dumb rules they started with.

What's the status of competition? 'dwindling' is a good word.

Enjoy playing the same 8 teams over and over again because you all are 'elite' and make rules that aren't favorable or fun.

everyone needs to get on the 6v6 format ASAP

Or play with people who learn to protect the medic.

But honestly, it's different. We played 8v8 and 7v7 before.... it just didn't feel right.

Everyone can play what they prefer. Just saying, the teams in the 6v6 are a little tighter than the teams in the 7v7 and 8v8.

Not being elitest or anything cuz I really don't feel like going down that road. It's all good.

I guess, for my team.. the 2 medic gayness with ubers is just too much. I remember our scrims and it was just boring.. especially when you have good medics who spread uber.

I thought you hated the 6 v 6 format due to it pretty much being

'soldiers meet, shoot at each other, first to press uber loses'

kind of play?

kind of play?you heard wrong, I like that first to press uber loses because it's EXCITING when you're the soldier, you have the whole game in your hands

I'd rather be playing 8v8 or more. 6v6 is just boring for me.

I do have to say though 8v8 on vent and playing with friends is pretty fun just because it feels like a pub stomp where you stack one team vs a bunch of newbs :D

So being able to actually defend on dustbowl is boring? You do know that was one of the major bitches about dustbowl/gravelpit on CEVO right? And why they wanted stopwatch timers. It's almost impossible to defend dustbowl in 6 v 6 with the class restrictions being what they are.

All the 6 v 6 demos I've watched (dr's, your clan, 50cal, Experiment, etc..), when the medic goes down, the team pretty much loses. On a map like granary, it's nearly impossible to come back on. Add in the element of random criticals and this isn't conducive for 'good teamplay' and that may be why TF2 is losing a lot of it's competition to other games.

On Well, losing the medic might mean giving up a single capture point, but since it isn't a broken map, it's entirely possible to come back. Gravel and Dustbowl can be interesting enough with stopwatch. (In fact some people would argue that stopwatch makes it more exciting.) Two nearly equal teams will need a stopwatch whether it's 6v6 or 10v10. 2fort is just a terrible map. Granary is broken. I don't think the 6v6 format is actually a problem... I've grown to like how it tends to make the game more tactical, if at the expense of overall strategy (class makeup, etc). It places an emphasis on the minutia that would otherwise be fairly irrelevant with more players and more room for error (e.g. 2 medics).

On the same token, that minutia can be a real headache for teams to iron out, so playing TF2 competitively and keeping up with the continually refined tactics of the best teams is pretty stressful.
