Find guys that you like being around and go pvp with them. If you don't pvp in the beginning, you'll end up quitting the game like the rest of the carebear TDubbers.

What tried I liked
What would be a good ship for fast cargo transport, like blockade running?
I may make that an enterprise when i re-up for a full sub.

There are blockade runner variants for each race, as well as tougher and slower ones. These are the tech 2 haulers. Although the blockade runner has been made a bit pointless, even moreso than usual, with the introduction of the heavy interdictor...
If people want something important moved, they'll just have a carrier/rorqual jump it safely for them. The blockade running profession has pretty much died.

Blockade running is still viable, you just have to have the right setup and techniques to make it get out of the bubble while cloaked and instawarp when you uncloak.

Question> I started a character in Eve about 8 months ago, got him a few million isk, training, and a larger ship.
Is it worth going back to that character? I heard that new players get higher skill points, etc now then before.
THanks

The skill point boost happened over a year ago, so you character from 8 months ago already has the boost.
