creative 12-23-2007, 09:38 AM it's not, you heard what the gov wanted you to hear.
Pokerstars and fulltilt are still really easy to cashout from and as far as i know (i really never deposit) are just easy to deposit
HypnosisFX 12-24-2007, 12:15 PM Chuck Norris has the greatest Poker-Face of all time. He won the 1983 World Series of Poker, despite holding only a Joker, a Get out of Jail Free Monopoloy card, a 2 of clubs, 7 of spades and a green #4 card from the game UNO.
Adroit 12-25-2007, 12:49 PM Jesus Christ, what you guys make is nuts. I have a friend who makes $750-1000 per week as his job (plays 6-8hrs per day) and I thought that was doing extremely well. He plays on CakePoker.
If that's accurate that's 56k on the high end which isn't chump change.
Usher 01-04-2008, 01:06 PM Nice work Blackfade. I seem to recall when this forum was first created you were barely starting.
I haven't played much poker this year, but am starting to get the urge to play seriously again.
Creative and Blackfade, how many tables do you play at once?
creative 01-04-2008, 01:31 PM 4-8, mostly 6
lately four tho
Usher 01-04-2008, 02:00 PM I was up to 6 tables at a maximum when I last played. I have similar stats to yours Creative, thinking I might get active again on 2+2 and hit the .5/1 6max on stars.
I don't think I could ever play 1 mill hands in a year though. That's about 3k hands a day for the whole year. Insanity.
Blackfade 01-05-2008, 05:09 PM 4-5 usually, never more then 8
cancer 01-16-2008, 03:12 PM damn that's a lot of money
Blackfade 01-19-2008, 07:49 PM I finished at 22nd at the aussie millions, winning a delicious $65k
It was actually very fun to play, even though we played 12 hours a day

opsayo 01-26-2008, 05:04 AM holy shit you guys make BANK off of this stuff
i've always wanted to try... how hard is it to get started? would you recommend it at all?
i've got a little experience, but obviously nowhere near enough to make money online. what % of people actually profit on that website?
creative 01-26-2008, 10:12 AM since i want 2 be nice,
getting "started" (ie low stakes) is still really easy money if you study the game. But don't expect to make the kind of money blackfade did, like ever, unless you devote a massive amount of time to it. (20+hrs a week min)
braski 01-26-2008, 04:38 PM if you aren't already playing, don't start
i'm a winner at 2/4 nl for about 8k a month and its been a long time coming to get here
the downswings are some of the most emotionally draining things i have ever been through
when you aren't very good, the downswings are even worse because you don't know why it is happening.. ie you don't know if you are the problem, or its just the cards... really if you haven't already gotten sucked into this, i would not suggest starting unless you are like a real solid chessplayer or gin player or something where some of the necessary psychology is already in place
braski 01-26-2008, 04:40 PM but on the other hand, it is fairly easy money like creative said. the bonuses at the different sites are really good for beginners. i recommend absolute poker. make sure you get rakeback when you sign up. google any of this if you dont understand
Adroit 01-27-2008, 12:30 AM If you want to play bad enough, the bonuses at Cake Poker are pretty outstanding and go to rakefreeze.com to lock up Rakeback, go there before you signup on Cake. Super soft in pretty much all facets and their tourney's are starting to get better. Moving most of my $$$ from stars to cake was one of the best decisions I made.

It's very hard to get started. Imagine playing a chess player that started playing chess 3 years prior to you - and you have to play him everyday to improve - for money.
My advice is to not start, most people end up losing - even those who try to take it serious.
However, if you do start realize this:
1. Your goal is not to make money at the beginning, its to learn poker. So for gods sake play the lowest stakes possible, and beat them before you move up to the next one. And by beat, I mean a decent winrate for 40k hands atleast.
2. Bankroll management. sort of the same as above.. this will keep a new player alive long enough for him to learn (hopefully) and it will keep you from going bust when you start to win.
I woud recommend starting with maybe 40 buyins at the very lowest stakes, and gradually increasing those requirements to 100 when you get to 5-10. 100 might seem excessive to some, but this isnt just about not going bust, its also reducses stress.
Mojo616 01-30-2008, 01:23 PM this might be a bit newbish, but why isnt your vpip for AA 100?
