2v2 lineup hunter/priest

So with the start of season 3 last night i picked up my new gear, enchanted what i could, and headed into 2v2 with my new hunter partner. Now niether of us have played this combo before but we are both geared and specced correctly.

Priest: Bartleebee (kilrogg) 10k hp unbuffed, 380 resil, 1200 healing 43/18/0
Hunter: Trampis (kilrogg) 11k hp unbuffed, 400+ resil, BM spec

Playing the first day is kinda a terrible way to see how you will do since you could play teams that last season were ranked anywhere from 1000-2800. But we did pretty well i think we ended up 5-5 or 4-4 or something along those lines.

I have 2 questions.

1. The team we lost the most too was lock/spriest. I *think* the strat against this team is to drain the spriest and then have the hunter burn him while i dispell and heal throught he dmg from the lock. However i can't seem to get any successful mana burns off before getting feared or dc'd ever 2 seconds. These fights last a while normally but we seem to get outlasted int he end. Should we just los and avoid mana drain while we wait for viper sting to do its job? Or should i keep trying to put pressure on the priest with mana burns?

2. The only other team that burned us down was a pally/rogue. We shouldnt, i dont think, have issues with this team but the rogue destroyed me in no time at all. I armoried him and he has the new Ar/prep hemo (i think thats what it is called) and apparently if i trinket/cc at the wrong time im going to get owned. When do i need to interrupt these new rogue builds so they cant unload their cooldowns on me, and what should i visably be looking for (besides the buff icon) when they do it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Gl to everyone is season 3!

Our warrior/paladin combo generally gets destroyed by shadow priest/lock as well unless they are ungeared or just terrible. We've tried to figure out strats to beat that combo but have yet to find one that works.

apparently alot of locks are using some lock mod called servitude...auto spell lock. don't know if you ran into that problem.

prep A or whatever other names they have is the FotM spec for rogues and entirely dependent on CD's. my wife's pally/war combo gets beat by the lock/sp as well so if someone has good tips for them I'll share them with her.

Me being hunter and pvp'ing in the same combo can only give you advice on the first one.

Drain the spriest as you did. Look at the WL, is he destro affli, or sl/sl? If sl/sl disregard him most of the time. What worked for me as a hunter is partial los. Try to keep the priest los, and avoid the WL. Once los and the blue drain line of death starts. I prob don't have to tell you that even if the priest is shadow, an aimed when you burn him will help.

Depending on the WL, try to nuke the pet. That way you and the priest will hopefully get some time to drink. Watch your own pet.

There is a shitload of other advices, but I just posted what i could think of. There are probably better players who could tell you more.

If all else fails, ask at Arena Junkies (http://www.arenajunkies.com)

Thanks for the responses. To the above post i did ask arean junkies as well. Can anyone give me a better idea as a priest how to survive as long as possible against a AR/prep hemo build rogue? Particularly what stun i should trinket and what cooldown i should interrupt with a fear/mind control?

against a rogue wouldnt blessed resil be better than pain suppressions?

That combo is brutal to go against. I have my pet named after my priest to help with mods like prox so it's not as easy to do normal pvp routine.

The thing is that what always happens is they cc my priest and gun me down. If you go after the lock, he can't get many spells off and if they both drain, that's when you bust out the aimed shot.

The only way to win this fight is to los, run away and wait for the shadow priest to be oom. Have the hunter stick the pet on him and gun down the warlock when the sp is out of mana. This strat has been working for almost every healer/dps combo as well.

priest is not an easy class, and neither is mana burning with an effective cc presence in the game

let your hunter call out when he's ready with silencing shot to silence an incoming fear, then go out and sneak a burn or 2. you can also SW:D a fear and the direct damage intake will more than likely break the fear.

BR is also usually the superior spec when partnered with a hunter for 2s

What the hell are you talking about.
The SW: D will cause the fear to take spell pushback, and the damage will be applied to you before the fear gets cast.
You 'might' be thinking of priests who SW: D poly when the mage has ice barrier up.
