I'm semi-interested (in the market, but looking for something probably a tad bigger) but knowing that will definately help make decisions for me and other people.

Original box says 1 year limited, I have to go to work but will look it up when I get back.

I bought it in September 2007 so it's about 3 months old.

there is a noise, but it by no means noisy.

I heard external HD's break a lot and have problems when uploading a lot of shit? What's so good about this one? -- Just a random question out of the blue, I might get one myself from newegg..

I just like using externals for music/movie/photo backups etc...I have several and I have never had one break on me...poor handling usually leads to issues, but I have mine set on a stack, so its not a big deal for me.
