Was an upgrade on haste (and possibly +dmg) for both of them, but it's no big deal.
I also rolled for and won the dagger you're talking about while shadowspec back in January or February when I first hit 70. I assumed shadowspec would last me all of a few weeks and I'd be back to healbotting it up so I banked it, and it's still sitting there. I've yet to equip it but still saving incase I get into arena out of boredom and need a placeholder healing weapon with resilience.
edit: and on a lighter note, the weapon that started this thread was DE'd last night (2 swords also DE'd or banked for future use by an alt, QQ).

I did that once a couple of years back when a piece of loot in BRD literally just disappeared. Some rogue botts off Emperor, and I won them on my rogue, the logs say I won it and yet it wasn't in my pack or on the corpse. I made a ticket documenting the incident pretty throughly, including the times and people in the group at the time, and I never heard back from them. I got the usual regurgitory email from them saying they got my ticket and sorry they couldn't get to me while I was online, etc. but I never heard anything more of it.
After that I never put any faith in that system, especially after someone on my Alliance realm got all his shit taken from him during a trade. A handful of us were had quested with him those past 3 - 4 days all donated some gold to buy some greens and even some other greens and he picked up and continued onto 70, but despite sending a ticket about it about 24 hours after the incident he never got his stuff back.

It seemed to originally come from Japan, the end of the Q is supposed to be a newly shed tear or something of the like. Considering how silly it is I would say it actually did start in Japan, they are weird over there.
