"I am still trying to decide on a few final filler choices for AR/Prep. I am pretty sure I will ditch improved kick as I feel outside of dueling mages it has very little value. In arena you have to save kick for the real sheeps/frost bolts. Yes every now and then the silence from improved kick does stop an NS heal for a kill or prevents the mage from getting off a fire blast that would have killed. But it doesn't happen enough for me to take this talent over riposte. I am also thinking about dropping ghostly strike. It is kind of pointless with the new 125% weapon damage hemo, I may macro it with evasion and make my macro hemo/riposte instead of hemo/ghostly strike/riposte. Three random actions make for one very chunky button to press.

I am undecided about set-up vs 1.5 minute blind. I will obviously be tanking a lot of other AR/prep rogues and even warriors (more like 2v2) in 3v3 which set-up is tremendous against, and unless I use blind right off the bat, I don't really see it being used more than once a fight. Set-up + COS is also a lot of combo points against mages or anyone with thorns. I know 1.5 minute blind is the safer choice but tanking other rogues will be 50% of 3v3. The biggest question for me is 10% fear/stun resist vs 60 AP (almost 100 during trinket + mongoose procs). I will probably start out with 5 in deadliness and go from there.* (http://www.gameriot.com/blogs/World-of-Ming/)"

These were questions i am struggling with. I'm not a pro-rogue, but i want to play my rogue more seriously this season.

1. imp Gouge vs full Lightning Reflexes?

2. Nerves of Steel?

3. when's it ideal to go with Setup?

4. if 2v2 isnt your focus, how important is Deadliness?

5. is Elusiveness really worth it?

6. why not blade twisting for when you are spamming shiv? dont you still use shiv up front?

The way i see it there's a few variants folks are looking at:

Baller Spec: 0-31-30 (http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=fZ0tEzbVt000oZxMe 0hhRox)
- no ghostly strike, no sleight of hand, no elusiveness
- full setup & deadliness

Standard DMG spec: 0-31-30 (http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=fZhdEzbVt000oZxMj oMuRox)
- standard core talents, with 5/5 deadliness

Balanced Spec (without full merc): 0-33-28 (http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=fZhdEzbVt000RZxrj oMGRo)
- imp gouge (debatable, compared to 5 pts LR... personal style choice)
- imp s&d (more hits, more mace stuns, more points, etc - point investment a choice)
- nerves of steel (stun/fear resist helps)
- sleight of hand (good for those of us without full merc)
- ghostly strike (survival greatly increased)

Vitality/Potency Control Spec: 0-37-24 (http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=fZhfV0rVt0MMRbxrf oMhRo)
- full imp s&d & imp gouge (inc control)
- imp kick (inc control)
- WepX & Vitality (increase survival)
- nerves of steel & combat potency (max control)

I plan to try a 25/36/0 spec

I think it has potential.

it's ming, calling a spec baller spec doesn't come close to some of the more retarded shit he writes

Yea, ming has a flair for hyperbole but those are specs/names i came up with, not him. The quote is his, though. I don't 100% trust him (for my needs) and he hasnt posted a spec since october.

Ive been following rogue forums and arenajunkies forums, to come up with these basic patterns. I find the last one really fascinating and am tempted to try it.

I got Gladiator season one with my hemo-spec'd rogue and never went back to it (currently playing a paladin).

All these new changes are interesting tho, might go back and give it another run.

Is there a cookie-cutter spec out there yet for season three and the new hemo/rogue changes?

As i look around on ptr and the forums, i see most people doing one of these variants but this is popular:

0-31-30 (http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=fZhdEzbVt000oZxMj oMuRox)

I think that's better for the guys who dont need Sleight of Hand (i.e. full merc gear). I dont have resil capped (ill be like 390), so ill prolly have less points in Deadliness.

Thoughts? 0-32-29 (http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=fZbxEzbVt000oZxrx oGGRo)

Full gouge & LR.

Sleight (cuz ill have 390 resil) and Setup, no initiative.

I'm a bit torn on Elusiveness vs Nerves of Steel. I can see putting those 2 points into Nerves.

I haven't played a rogue in forever, is this image a stunlock build?

Basically. Mace stun with a lot of ways to keep on your target, although the benefits of this setup help for swords in 2v2 and 3v3 as well.

Zerix (dual warglaives off of illidan) is talking about this 4-33-24 (http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=f0LZhdEzbVzx00RZx rfobhRo)

He's just convinced me to drop elusiveness for nerves of steel, although im now thinking of grabbing initiative too. :ugh:

being from LB and "growing up" as a rogue along him I kinda miss ming years later.

I mean now I know he is absolutly crazy in the head but he was funny back in the day at how serious he would always be

Nice, I've wanted to start a rogue up again ever since they got CoS. This sounds very irritating. I like it.

I have a funny story :D

Was in AV on a druid i was honor farming for a friend, and playing with another friend on his alt shadow priest. We had just cleared out SH bunker when my buddy says on vent "THERE'S MING!" (we're horde, he's alliance)

We instantly chase after his ass...

I get entangling roots on him, and he turns around... doesnt vanish. I'm rushing up to him as this realization that i get to kill ming sinks in... then...

BAM

Another rogue pops up on me while ming vanishes. I'm like... FUCK!!

They killed me in approximately 4seconds. Restro druid with about 50 resil. My priest buddy is laughing on vent as they shred his ass next.

I should make a blog called Ming Hunting.

On my lock, i've killed him a few times in AV. Always a pleasure but he's so fuckin scary if you get into a 1v1 or even 1v2 with him. There are just some rogues so nasty that you are best to avoid them if you dont have backup.

thread derail here because its something i've been thinking about posting

s3 is a flat out insult to any hardcore player who has been playing the game for more than a couple months. the fact that ANY scrub rogue who hits 70 today can have a pair of 103 dps daggers in 2 months is absolutely absurd. the fact that i've spent over a thousand gold in the past few weeks respeccing to get gladiator on my teams while johnny rogue spends 0 gold and gets better epics than what drops off illidan is absurd. arena item inflation has reached critical mass and it's at the point now where there is literally no in game incentive for pve fans to play the game.

blizzard needs to either a. restrict current season gear to people who got gladiator in the past season. or b. double your hp when in arenas so any idiot prep rogue with a sp/mage/warlock partner won't be able to win 66% of his games with ease.

I have to admit, i'm fuckin sick of raiders whining about PvP gear. Half the people i know in BT arent that good and dont "deserve" the best just cuz they spend everything raiding. Sorry, but diehard raiders have deluded themselvse into believing their nice PvE gear represents skill and that's why they hate having pvp'rs with similar looking gear and similar stats.

The solution is even simpler:

- cut the durability of PvP gear to 0 in PvE instances
- cut the durability of PvE gear with +resistance to 0 in arenas
- make the two gear paths look different

Done.

I'm going with the "Standard DMG Spec," but with Sleight instead of Elusiveness. I'll be sitting at around 350 resilience when S3 hits, and I'm still getting crit way too damn much, so that's more important to me until I can get closer to the cap.

Also playing around with the idea of dropping Ghostly...but I'll have to see how helpful it is for a couple of weeks before I make the decision. I was Hemo for about a month during S1 at around 1700 3v3, and it wasn't that helpful then.

Also putting the 1 point from Imp SnD into Expertise, instead.

You call that a solution? I am guessing you are being sarcastic.

can someone give me some sort of summary on why all the rouge buzz here? I mean i just cared about hunter, what should I look out as a Hunter when I see a rouge now? Apart from being owned that is.
