S3 Arena Shinanigans

Was talking to a co-worker about 2.3 patch that's incoming and the start of S3 a week later. Honestly he only plays WoW anymore for arena (gave up raiding some months ago). He says while he's saved up enough honor for everything but the weapons and shoulders (which you'll need S3 rating) he's waiting 4 or 5 days after S3 hits to pick it up. Seemed odd, but it seems Horde on his realm (he's Alliance) has some more coordinated douchebags. Seems when S2 hit the Horde on his realm got together and collaborated to keep Alliance from getting their arena gear. He said it was a rather large effort whereby a sizeable amount of players kited the Area 52 guards out of town and got about 12 - 15 mages inside the small hut where the vendors are. And when any alliance decided to try to buy their arena gear they were met with massive AE/Blizzard spams that more or less killed them outright. He said they did that for just under two hours before it stopped.

So anyone else seen similar nonsense, or getting ideas to do similar?

Oddly enough, concentrating all the pvp'ers into one tiny hut can cause pvp.

Area 52 is always like that on Tuesdays and especially on patch days. This isnt even about "coordinated efforts" when you're talking about two hours.

Blizz will eventually move the vendors or duplicate them because of all the whining.

So this guy is going to wait a full week just cause of a couple hours of griefing? No wonder alliance is so easy to discourage on most realms... so many pussies. He does know that WoW realms are up just about 24/7 right? There ARE off-hours...

Stop making threads about every little stray thought that crosses that void in your skull.

delaying getting the newest gear by a few hours?... woopee, if anyone absolutely needs the newest gear right away, they need to get a fuckin life.

Yeah I'm just gonna walk in and buy my 2 pieces of AS3 and leave... there are always people ganking in/around.

When Season2 started they had NPC's in Orgrimmar. I don't know if it was just the first day or first week (I haven't bought any arena armor since day1 s2) but I know they were in with the other PVP NPCs.

took them a couple crash filled hours to get the extra npcs in at the start of s2, I doubt they will repeat the mistake though

Would it kill people to wait a few hours?

Like I said all he does is arena so he does other things with his life than play WoW. I find him entertaining because of his overly jaded views on Horde players (he's Alliance) and even his views on dwarves. He fuckin' hates people who play dwarves, to the point he will never group or deal with them in any way.

As for the "griefing" be honest about it. It's difficult enough trying to find 5 people who can work together in one dungeon or even 10 for Kara it borderlines on Herculean, but getting 50+ people organized enough to do this for more than 20 minutes seems pretty impressive to me.

Despite having a couple of 70s I haven't yet tried arena so I don't really need to worry about this. Maybe when I'm bored I'll whore the BGs enough to get the S1 gear/weapons and fill in any other slots with PvP rewards and try my hand at it.
