When it comes to adding scripts im new. i wanna add this to my cfg but which one is the right cfg file to add it too.

=====================
//Demoman's Rapid Sticky Bomb Launcher Attack

alias "rapidStickyAttack" "+attack; wait 50; -attack; wait 50; +reload; wait 25; -reload; wait 25; +attack2; wait 2; -attack2"
bind "MOUSE3" "rapidStickyAttack"

=====================

Makes the sticky's explode on contact/impact instead of right clicking.

That doesn't make it blow up on contact, it makes you fire, reload and then it automatically blows your bombs up regardless if they're stuck to something or midflight. I dont see why you'd want to automate that, those bombs are one of the most versitile weapons in the game and that removes half their use.

You can create an autoexec.cfg in your team fortress/tf/cfg directory to put anything you want loaded automatically anyway, to answer your question.

Is this any different from firing a sticky and holding right click so it blows up as soon as possible?

unless you dont use mouse 3 for anything else you only will want to run that when you are demoman.

i use class specific scripts that i load with the numpad.
i would recommend doing something like that.

Hypnosis-

Here (http://tf2wiki.net/wiki/Scripting)'s a bunch of info on scripting itself. (Although, Ratorasniki's idea is pretty good too - about adding the autoexec file.)

And for what it's worth, here (http://tf2wiki.net/wiki/Community_Scripts)'s a bunch of scripts [for all classes].

I tried it out, and the timing is a little off for me. It doesn't blow up the sticky. But that can be adjusted by changing the wait commands. I've found that I prefer just to hold the right mouse button down when I want emergency fast stickies or whatever... Seems to be actually a tad faster than anything some wait commands can reproduce, and it also allows you to charge the sticky for distance if you need to.

I haven't really seen a need for scripts at all in this game. :/

People who use scripts are pussies, and can't play the game on their own.

What is so fucking funny?

Or are you assuming that "everyone uses scripts and I'm being ignorant, by thinking that using scripts is bullshit."

I'm sorry, I think it's compensation... Like the auto melee, or switching scripts. Do it manual, scripts just set a poor curve for the game. Either have the script, or be good at what you do. Otherwise get your ass handed to you. And the people who do use the scripts couldn't match those that do just as well without the scripts, if those that do use them were forced to play without their scripts.

because that is an idiotic opinion to have, thats why its funny.

Speaking of scripts, whats this bullshit I've heard a few times about script-sniping?

I don't like being accused of doing something and I don't know what it is I'm not doing.

Also, scripting is fairly unnecessary in TF2, but I can see how it would be very helpful to people playing certain classes.

umm if right after u fire from unscoped rifle, u switch to alt wpn, then switch back, it reloads and skips the 'zoom in' thing that normally happens. so you can essentially (unzoomed) 'rapid fire' the sniper rifle.

scripting is unnecessary but all the scripts i use add convenience and are nice.

heres the scripts i use:
RJ script for soldier bound to mouse2 (since he has no mouse2)
autocloak after attack, autodisguise after attack spy scripts
quick disguise switch (bound to keys f1-f9)
demo sticky jump bind.
adjusted sensitivities for each class
quick class select/specific class script load (use the numpad to choose class which autoloads script for the class)
i dunno what else, but its nice to have diff scripts for each class

i had an auto-heal script so i dont have to hold down the mouse but i didnt really like it so i dont use that any more.
and a script to one-button-select engineer bldgs would be nice, but im lazy and dont play engineer often enough to have made that.

It's an opinion.

So it's no less idiotic then the way you feel about it.
