TF2 Really Sluggish

Whenever my roommate and I are both playing TF2, my game frequently becomes very sluggish. My "Lerp" becomes yellow and I basically experience a huge amount of lag. The same thing happens with him. When he's not playing and I am, everything is smooth.

Does anyone know why this may be? Is it simply because we are using up too much bandwidth or something? We have a Netgear WGR614 v7 if that helps.

I've been having issues ever since I updated the new 8 series forceware drivers.

I'm thinking I might have to roll back, but I want to get some imput from some other people as to what drivers they are running on what cards.
