Rilke 11-05-2007, 05:29 PM Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Soldier of Fortune 3: Payback
Assassin's Creed
Mass Effect
Gears of War (PC)
Are you planning on trying any of these?
the only game that will have any remote effect on tf2 is cod4.
My system would probably run most of them on low and chug...so unless the demo plays good and I suddenly have a lot of free time then no, im sticking with TF2
Obskure 11-05-2007, 07:53 PM no effect on me at all
AniMisM 11-05-2007, 07:54 PM I agree with uno, CoD4 is the big one that will lure some away.
d0ggy 11-05-2007, 07:55 PM ill be purchasing CoD4, Assassins Creed, and Mass Effect. Download SoF3, and not trying GoW cause i already played/beat on 360.
HypnosisFX 11-05-2007, 08:32 PM Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.....just the same as 1,2 and 3
Soldier of Fortune 3: Payback...is right i want my money back after the first 2
Assassin's Creed....only for PS3
Mass Effect....fuck if i know
Gears of War (PC) I took all the blood out of this stone on XB360
So pretty much no affect.
HaPpY 11-05-2007, 08:57 PM different games... TF2 is not only a game of skill but one requiring a unique brand of strategy and tactics.
I cant say the same for any of the above but only those who don't understand TF2 may switch... and good riddance.
Heimdal 11-05-2007, 09:11 PM somehow you forgot crysis on that list.
anyway, the only games worth it are big time single player. i'll play gears of war with some friends for co-op, but none of those can hope to take over how fun tf2 is for multiplayer.
then again i don't see what people see in cod4. i hate war games like it. i don't see how they can keep regurgitating the same thing over and over and have it suceed. but hey it has better graphics than the other ones! haha, oh well. i'm not everybody :p
Livingdeath 11-06-2007, 04:53 AM I'll be switching to Cod4, imo its just a better mp experience.
Guns are more accurate, grenades, faster action that takes more individual skill. Less bullshit class rock/paper/scissor shit.
DwarfVader 11-06-2007, 05:46 AM
I'm enjoying the rock/paper/scissor shit quite a lot.
Felonius 11-06-2007, 10:17 AM I might try COD4 but I seriously doubt I'd enjoy multiplayer more than TF2. I really like the emphasis on teamwork and less emphasis on individual skill, but rather individual smarts/awareness/communication.
Livingdeath 11-06-2007, 10:39 AM Yea, I guess thats the big difference. If you want a game that puts emphasis on individual skill, go COD. It allows you to be a one man cowboy. Back in the day in CoD1, I could kill an entire team by myself if I had a good run
If you prefer team strats (lots of chitchat), go TF. Not to say that CoD doesnt ask for team skill (it does), just thats not as much the emphasis or the game sealer.
TF2 is stale for me atm. I don't feel like im improving much individually, but just stagnating waiting for the few times where I can pub with competent players to get some teamwork in. I like having things under control at all times, and in TF2 you can never have that (which is why I hate many respawn games). You never know if theres a stealthed spy behind you, or if you are in a snipers crosshairs who's appeared right after you've checked down an area, or if you are about to run into a newly minted engi turret.
Too often you can only get so far, before you have to wait for your stupid
teammates to get into position to assist you.
Felonius 11-06-2007, 12:08 PM Try playing on more competitive pubs... That will make the experience much better. You inspired me to make a thread: http://www.tribalwar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=514182

How many hours have you logged playing TF2 mp versus CoD4 mp?
AniMisM 11-06-2007, 01:17 PM Funny how no one is talking about Crysis
HaPpY 11-06-2007, 02:26 PM fuck crysis.... you'll all be bored of it in 2 weeks after the initial "oooooo purrdyy" phase has passed :p:
My new box catching on fire puts a damper on me playing TF2.

 How'd that happen?
d0ggy 11-06-2007, 07:38 PM Wait, your new comp caught on fire? Did your video card explode after taking a year to get to you?
