how to make TF2 maps

What is needed to do so, i looked in FPSbanana and seen nothing to dload or anything.

Steam -> Tools -> SourceSDK

Open SourceSDK, select the game you want to map for, click Hammer Editor

This will do it for CS:S etc. But they haven't released the TF2 config yet.

So to get TF2 you gotta do some little hacky thing... heres a link:

It's pretty straightforward, and the Valve wiki-site for level design is very well done and comprehensive ala UDN. Much of everything you'll need is there if you've never used Hammer or an iteration of it before now.

Right now I'm having issues with it showing the actual TF2 textures while in the editor (getting that purple/black checkerboard). I may've cocked it up, but if you run into the same issue it may be something else.
