Play WoW on XBox controller

A co-worker sent this to me this morning:

I could never use one of these. Using a controller in a game like WoW would be tantamount to a chef not washing his hands after using the toilet -- it's dirty and wrong. However, I do think it's a cool idea.

I'd like to see a hunter try and kite with one of these things. You might be able to get away with using something like this if you're strictly PvE or play on a PvE server (i.e. if you're a faggot).

I will never give up the ability to draw inappropriate ASCII art or spam my guild members with the soundpack.

it hurts my brain to try and think of how it would work with each class

does it only work with an Xbox controller, or is there a program out there that will work with say, a logitech one?

except i play like the pic on the right with a keyboard on my lap and mouse on a sidedesk on the right side :P

i played like that too but i kept the keyboard on my lap just fine and my hand could reach the mouse.

How is this cutting edge? It's mapping controller buttons to keyboard/mouse funtions. That shit is OLD.

My dream in life is to play EVERY game using a standard eight-button (six face buttons + start/select) fighting game joystick.

And that INCLUDES WoW.

If you can do it on a controller, that is not just awesome but SUPER awesome. I'd kill to be able to map Mortal Strike to qcf + punch.

Before this program came out, there was an addon scripter on the WoW forums that did the exact same thing. The requirement at the time was that you use a Microsoft-compatible controller. Basically it had to use the same coding scheme as the Xbox controller, even if it didn't have the exact same layout.

If I recall correctly, that did not include the Logitech gamepads. However, it would be worth checking out at some point :shrug:

Looks like you'd have to learn how to do shit all over again. I just got my Nostromo n52 kicking some months ago, I'd hate to have to re-learn something like that again.
