[FL Studio][WIP] Can anyone help me out?

I've been getting into creating break beats/DnB with FL Studio. Unfortunately I'm still relatively new to the finer points of the program.

Here's a track I've been working on, at 180bpm:

I want to add in some richer bass, maybe even go for some of the distortion commonly found in a dnb reese. I can't figure out how to get that sound though. I don't have Sytrus so I'm stuck with the 3x osc and ts404 for my basslines. Anyone have any ideas for the bass or general crits of my track?

i know people who have recorded and released entire records using only fruity loops.

its not the tool, but how you use it.

I widened out the sound and dulled down the admittedly annoying synths. I'll rehost a new version when I can.

You guys don't have to be so harsh, I'm learning and this is just a hobby :)

the bass is nice in parts like 2:18. the beats need to be more punchy. what you can basically do, is eq the amen break to have no bass on it but keep some of the mid range sounds then added a nice punchy kick where the kicks play on the break. The synth is somewhat annoying but i think thats because the melody itself isnt too great. The filtering on the break is nice in parts. its def not bad for just playing around in fl. id hate to hear the stuff i made in fl when i started. i dunno. im no pro but pm if you have any questions, i used fl ALOT before i bought ableton a few months ago so i may be able to help you out.

Maybe we should think about splitting up the music forum into different genres, since a lot here are very biased towards certain genres of music.

there arent enough people that visit this forum to make it worthwhile to break it up. if you dont dig a certain type of music thats cool, just dont be a dick about it. i thought as musicians we would not stoop to the level of the general forum... i was wrong i guess.

As was said the synths are annoying.

Drums need to be kicked up...try layering another kick drum on top of the break.

Here's a revision, I layered some beats, toned down the synths, and added more melodic elements. I'm thinking of varying the beats a bit more.
