says the official cause of death was ruptured brain aneurysm. I mean, I suppose that may have been caused by a bed falling on him, but why wouldn't they mention that as part of the cause?

Whoa, I just saw this thread while doing some general searching.

That's pretty saddening, especially with it sounding like it was something as incidental as his bunk bed falling on top of him that killed him.

Such a tragic waste. :(

I heard from somebody at SIU that knows his suite mate aka the guy that found him that his bunk collapsed on him, that the top bunk fell on him and that is how he found him in the room

mind you this is coming from somebody who goes to school at SIU (aka hes an idiot) but that is what I heard

I mean, can you imagine telling Spry a few months ago "You're going to die at the age of 19 due to a bunk bed collapsing on you"? It could have been any one of us. :(

not true. it could only be persons who sleep on the lower bed bunked with a bed above them

The worst part is that after it hit him, it probably just didn't occur to him he might die from the injury. It was probably like one of those "FFS I just stubbed my toe!" moments, except it quickly went downhill. :(

The bunk bed falling on him could have triggered the aneurysm and killed him. It could be the university/construction fault and not some freak death.
