Looking for a new amp, need recommendations

So I'm downgrading my rig and selling my Mesa half-stack. I've decided I wanna get a 2x12 combo amp, but I can't seem to find anything that stands out to me :hrm:
I was looking at the Line 6 Vetta II, but it's really expensive and I don't have a Variax to use it to it's full potential. It's also been out for a while and I sense a Vetta III or VettaValve around the corner. I'm leaning towards the Line 6 Spider III 150 for the price, but I really don't need all the presets and FX, and most of them suck anyways. Any other recommendations from Fender, Marshall, Roland, Yamaha, etc? Money isn't really an issue, I wanna get the right amp and have it last me a while.

Fender Cyber Twin, hybrid uses the big super tubes that made marshall famous. I own one, and the only other amp I have ever played that I have liked more is a soldano. You can get a first issue on Ebay for about 500$, and it is totally worth it. It is a heavy bastard though.

I have a Boogie half stack :) A TriAxis and a 2:Ninety. I didn't sell it though; I still use it for recording.

But I also use a few other tools: A Blues Deluxe (40W, 1x12), a Kalamazoo Bass 30 (22W, 2x10, closed back) and a Line6 AX2-212. The AX2 is handy for modern sounds (and faking practically any amp), the Kalamazoo is good for boxy old sounds, and the Blues Deluxe is great for modern-ish hard rock tones paired with a Tube Screamer.

I also have a Fender Pro Junior (10W, 1x10), which sounds a lot bigger recorded than it does in the room.

The reason I'm downgrading is because I live in an apartment and don't have a band anymore. I'm sad to see it go, but I don't need a stack just for jamming with friends or recording in a studio. Thanks for the recommendations so far, keep 'em coming!

If you are not in a band, you don't need an amp. Get a juarezed copy of Guitar Rig 2 (or 3, if it's "out"). Use your handy computer interface (like my Delta 44) to plug in, and viola, good to go. Best guitar tones ever.

I jam with friends, sometimes with drums, and if I form a band again a 2x12 will still hold up on stage. It'd also be good for the studio. I have a juarez'd copy of GuitarRig v2.2.2, which is the latest scene release; that's what I've used on the songs I've posted so far. I record through my PreSonus FireBox, which I know you're familiar with since you have one. I think you have pretty much one of everything don't you? :p:

I have guitar rig 2 but I still get a tiny bit of lag or latency. Is there a certain soundcard I should get to cure this? Or is it in the soundcard?

Yes, latency/delay is due to your card/interface. You can try setting the buffer settings lower to lower the latency, but if you go too low you'll get clicks and pops. You can use direct monitoring if the hardware supports it, but then you can't go through your plugins while recording. Bottom line, you need to buy a decent recording interface with decent latency. FireWire interfaces tend to have lower latency than USB 2.0 interfaces. I highly recommend the FireBox to people who don't need a shitload of i/o. It's perfect for guys like us doing little project songs, the quality is high and the latency and price is low.

Not yet....not yet. :(

When I got my Strat Elite, though, that was a huge step.

I still need to get a Les Paul Standard. They're so expensive, though.

Oh, and if you want a 2x12, get either a Twin if you're into tubes, or a Vetta II if you're not. Get the Vetta used, though - they're stupidly expensive new.
