derm king 10-11-2007, 07:38 PM I bought TF2, so far i am not sold on the game overall. The CSS mod is a bit over done. But it has deployables, cloaking and a teleport pad. The over sized and over powered weapons also remind me of T2 mods. I dont think a mod of TF2 into Tribes would be good. What i am saying is, if it was done to look like TF2. Flat textures and comic models. I never played Tribes 1, but T2 had blocky looking models. I kinda like the look of TF2.

any of you play TF2 yet? It is fun, but it is obviously a mod of CS:S with deployables and flat textures. The 9 classes are cool.
I am not saying mod TF2 into a tribes game. I am saying a new game made like TF2.

derm king 10-12-2007, 10:14 AM whatever. you can stay in the past. I'm not. I am not telling anyone "how it should transpire". I think it would look cool. I am not part of this T2 vs T1 arguement. I couldn't care less. That issue has nothing to do with this topic.
when i say i never played it. I did downloaded it and i did played it, once. I never played it regularly. sorry for the confusion. Never say Never. I am sure T1 is a great game. I grew up on T2. I have enough old games that only have empty servers, including T2. I dont want another one.

Tribes goes for gameplay over graphics. Any effort to make the graphics outstianding in Tribes results in incompletion or failure and it's always blamed "on the engine"

If they made T1 look like TFC2 it would be ass, Look at T:V, it's showy like TFC2 but it's way off base from what T1 is. They changed the look of everything the feel of everything and called it "Another part of the tribes series". Tribes 1 Had everything dead on, graphics weren't that bad for it's time and the available technology, the game play blew all other right out of the water and the player to terrain ratio was almost perfect. Thats what pissed me off when T2 came out, my player was half the size of many landscape features, i felt like a fucking giant. T:V came a little closer but they changed too much for me to really get into it. I had more fun playing T:V as the mod for T1 made by plassy :)

If your trying to say TV is Tribes with flat graphics, then i disagree. TV sucked. It looked more like lego models with crayola graphics.
TF2 graphics may have flat textures, but the detail is real nice.
By the way, i prefer gameplay over graphics. for many reasons.
