fuckin guitar center...

just bought a pair of new monitors from G.C.
get them home, open them up and one of them had been re-sealed, repackaged. it had scratches on the bottom of it and a knick on the lower right front face panel.

i called them up and told them and they are ordering me a brand new one to exchange but damn, they should mark the boxes that have been opened before and know which are factory fresh and which arent.

Yea, that's bs, I hate when stuff like that happens.

Those seem pretty nice for the price, but with an 8" LF driver you think they'd be able to go lower than 42Hz :shrug: I guess that's what far-fields are for :)

I had that happen twice in a row to me, pretty annoying but I know they get a lot of returns (not that that excuses them)

Worse thing about guitar center is the employees, most of them are in a band of some sort and act like the whole job is beneath them...shitty service

It's good that they're being active about fixing your issue though. A lot of big-box stores wouldn't do that...
hell, a couple of local stores i know wouldn't, either.

They make a sub for that set too. I like those, but already own a set of NS10s, so if I get anything else, it'll be a set of those self-tuning JBLs.

Guitar Center is a joke & they usually never have anything in stock. They've tried to sell me the floor items several times there.

Now while I'm not totally against buying a floor model, guitar center doesn't really look out for their stuff. When a friend of mine was buying a strat I noticed a big ding in the body and asked him about it, he kind of just looked at us like a deer in headlights and said, "Ugh.......I'll take 40 bucks off of it!" Since we were suckers back then he still bought the strat, but that shit wouldn't fly now.
