So everybody,

I just bought some new toys.

bought 2 Numark TT1625 tables and a shitty ass Numark DM950 Mixer. I want to upgrade to a Vestax PC-275 3 channel, but I figured I'd wait. (those kill switches are nice)

The mixer blows dick, but whatever.

I bought Serato Scratch Live off ebay for 435$ shipped (woo woo)

Now I just need some awesome 2.1 speakers. Any recommendations (I was going to pick up some Promedia 2.1s) I need something that will play loud at a party and still sound great. I don't really have the money for a PA systems, but I feel 200 watts (130 from the sub) should be able to keep my ears happy, and a mild party entertained.

discuss.

well. it's ok, I just made it for a reference thread, I've been chatting with KA about some small things. I'll probaly host a house/mash up mix in a little bit.

If you look into getting a better mixer sometime soon, the behringer djx700 has a lot of good features and its pretty reasonably priced at about 180 bucks.

Well, what's your budget and where do you plan on playing? When you really want to upgrade your mixer get a Rane TTM 57. I'm assuming that you're just getting into DJing. MAKE SURE that you learn to beatmatch by ear and don't get stuck looking at the screen. You'll be a much better DJ if you can focus on the music rather than trying to watch the screen to keep the beats matched. Welcome to the Serato Family.

yea, I've played with tables before when I was in highschool (obvoiusly pre-SLL) so beat matching is not a problem. I wanted SSL because I have so much music on my laptop it's just easy and conveinent.

I don't have money for the TTM57 but the features on it are amazing. I'd be looking more for a house/techno mixer or an effects mixer (like the numark DM065 or whatever)
