IronWolve 09-22-2007, 10:09 PM I never bought TV, but saw it for 4 bux, so I picked it up.
I played the demos for awhile, but didnt get into it due to the hacks.
Working on the single player game, almost done with that part.
]| ZeR0 |[ 09-23-2007, 12:11 AM there's a small but decent community still around.
if you're a fan of LT or TR, there's a new server up called Autistic Rabbit.
base servers are usually packed with alot of noobs. most people play vanilla these days. vanilla limits 5 grapple, breakable line, nerfed shield pack and no vehicles.
there's a mutator in the works called failboat that has balanced some more of the things in the game. it's a work in progress, but water bottle has done some amazing stuff such as:
- buckler blocks of chaingun/blaster/sniper rounds actually reduces your energy, making it harder to rabbit in medium shield and buckler.
- burner has finally been tweaked. it is now more like the t1 and t2 plasma rifle/gun. it no longer runs on energy, has 20 ammunition, and produces a more plasma-like ball that you can actually chase with. it doesn't gradually decrease your health, only allows one ball at a time, but you can hold down the button to fire it rapidly, but your previous shot dissapates fast. it doesn't linger like the burner did either. it's actually cool, and requires a pretty good aim/lead to be able to chase with it. it's a great weapon for base destruction as well.
- energy blade has now become a better melee weapon. range has been increased, i think 1.5 or double, forgot. when you make contact with your victim capper, it forces them to drop the flag. if you miss, it penalizes you by reducing your energy a bit. quite a cool concept. makes the eblade a lil better tool. not quite the shocklance, but still neat.
- faster disc/knockback velocity. the disc now has a more t1/t2 feel to it. can pull off some sick ma's and such. the knockback has helped with a better disc jumps as well.
- increased health for heavies. 225 i think? since he is still using vanilla's grapple and shield, he wanted to help make heavies more useful rather than being MA targets. it took alot to take heavies out in t1/t2, and this gives heavies a chance to be a lil more devastating.
there's a ton of other things. pm Fox on here for more info.
water is still throwing some other ideas around. just trying to make the game more balanced. vanilla dumbed down the game alot. people finally know how to defend and chase for the most part, and it's just become redundant. these add some new dynamics to the game, and makes it feel a lil more like the tribes we used to know.
IronWolve 09-23-2007, 12:36 AM Any URLs?
Hard to find where the TV peeps are hanging out.
Also, think I need some scripts, picking loadouts in the inv with a mouse sucks.
FishStix 09-23-2007, 01:23 AM I just opened T:V up for the first time in a long time the other day. Had fun :D
NeutralX2 09-23-2007, 01:27 AM You could probably also use some of the custom maps (http://neutralx2.com/?p=203).

TAA WAR 09-23-2007, 08:08 PM The problem I am having is getting a CD key. I tried a key gen but it says all of the keys are taken (tried like 10 times). So how would I be able to get one, or is there any way around it?
]| ZeR0 |[ 09-23-2007, 09:57 PM buy a copy of the game?
i'm sure you can find it on amazon or ebay for like a $1.

I bought the game about a year ago.
But of course the slip I lost was the one with the key on it.
IronWolve 09-25-2007, 12:31 AM Anyone have a no-cd patch? I hate CD checks.
fatboy 09-25-2007, 10:43 AM What zero said - some good times to be had yet in T:V.
ALL HAIL FAILBOAT.
This thread makes me giggle.
are there any servers with tr
like played more than once a day
derm king 09-29-2007, 11:44 PM I reinstalled TV thursday night because this thread got me to thinking "it has been a while since i played TV, it might be fun".
OOPS. Not. It still sucks.
Unreal with jetpacks, modded by crayola.
TV is no more Tribes than my two sweaty balls.
Other than ok jet pack physics it blows.

Autistic Rabbit. there's still some issues with it, like the minimum MA distance and height needing to be manually set every map change. (for go go gadget grabs and crazy flags). That, and map lists don't work with the gametype YET.
the server switches between LT and TR all the time. PM me if you need it changed to TR.
Honestly, CTF (yes, even vanilla) blows fucking ass. Water Bottle is working on making it more bearable, but the game's pretty dead.
There's still hope for LT/TR though :) i'm working on some stuff ATM, will post when it's finished.
P.S. if anyone's interested in mapping soley for LT/TR please PM me. TR is in desperate need of maps designed specifically for the gametype. I'll buy you a milkshake, or a hooker, or somethin.

Cactusbone TV page (http://www.cactusbone.com/tv/)
]| ZeR0 |[ 09-30-2007, 12:14 AM also, Water Bottle fixed non regs completely in T:V :)
not ready for release yet, but we tested it in a TWL LT match. can be applied to most the weapons (at least the ones that have a problem).

Giggle giggle giggle!!!
NextGen 09-30-2007, 09:11 PM Even if the MP fails to meet your tastes, the SP portion of the game will make it worth the purchase.
