How much are the putting in the game anyways?

Like in wow you could turn helm and cloak off, does war let you turn whatever piece you want off? Or do they want you to see what gear they have so you know?

Big issue I had with wow was everyone looked the same, daoc had the dyes so you could actually know some people by thier guild colors and armor choices.

I hate that word "toon". So fucking retarded.

But to answer your question, there will be tons of customization.

Developers (Warhammer Online) - The Vault Network (http://vault.ign.com/wiki/index.php/Developers_%28Warhammer_O nline%29)
Customization options will vary from race to race and the character model will grow and change as the player levels up -- Dwarven beards grow in length, Orcs become larger and more brutal looking, and the vile servants of Chaos will get "more vile." Character customization will also be available via battle trophies such as enemy beards, heads, skulls etc; these can be attached to selected points on the body. This is created so that there will be no need for a Con system in the game.

Where in other games you may see a 'Red' name above a characters head to know that he is more powerful than you, in WAR you will be able to look at that character and immediately be able to tell if he is tougher than you are. The character customization is meant to satisfy the brilliant but fanatic tastes of the tabletop miniatures game but also let MMO newcomers get enjoy a truly unique avatar. Customized characters color schemes will also be available in Warhammer Online, Mythic realise that In the Warhammer table-top game, painting your models added a large sense of personality to your army.

Players will also have the ability to change their characters appearance on the fly with completely animated faces that display emotion; you can choose whether you character looks happy, angry, mean, afraid, sad, lonely, etc. directly from your user interface.

Add to this 12+ armor sets for each class in addition to random pieces of armor, and you have the potential for very unique-looking characters. Add to that, again, armor dyes like in DAOC...Uniqueness won't be a problem I'm guessing.

They are, however, very big on "silhouetting". That is, they want you to be able to look at a character and think "Ok. Dwarf. Long Beard. Heavy Armor. Shield. Must be a High Level Ironbreaker." OR "Orc. God He's Huge. Dual Wielding Swords. Oh shit, it's a high level Choppa. Run away! Run Away!"

So, although characters will have the same basic "outline" and things that will remain constant across the class, there's lots of room for customization in between.

I think I saw a screenshot of the armor equip screen and there were like 6 "trophy" and "customization" slots.

Thats cool, I always wished in wow you could hide any piece of armor if you wanted, but dyes and tropheys would be nice.

Wow ended up being everyone in the same epics all looking alike so it got boring, pre BC with naxx it wasent too bad because not many of us had lots of tier 3.

Ive seen the 12+ armor sets but does that mean 12 + at level cap all serving different uses or will there be 1 armor set that is the best which everyone will end up using, or 1 pvp set 1 pve set.

Probably why I hate the idea of sets, but I guess no matter what you do there will be one set of choices that is the best and everyone will strive for it.

Custimzation slots sound cool though, the more diversity there is in the world the less boring it gets.

I can't wait to see this games trophy system, visual-to-level differences and dyes. I am so gonna have dwarf beards on my Black Orc's belt!

hopefully the small things like this add up.

I loved asherons call well for the no class syetm but the ton of small details they added all added up to great things.
