shaka_zulu705 08-30-2007, 06:34 PM I want to avoid gaining the freshman 15, and maybe lose a few pounds. any suggestions. BeLiaL 08-30-2007, 06:38 PM exercise, don't binge drink, and don't eat like a pig ZodiaK 08-30-2007, 07:12 PM 1) exercise 3 times a week 2) drink until you puke 3) go to your school's nutrition guide and plan out healthy/balanced options early in the collegiate career so you can go ahead and get into healthy habits. Highlife 08-30-2007, 07:16 PM To make it very easy. Make sure your plates have a lot of color ie lots of veggies and don't eat a shit ton of food. Don't be lazy, exercise. Drink till your heart's content...its college. Rayn 08-30-2007, 07:18 PM "I don't want to gain weight, how do I do that?" Burn a number of calories greater than or equal to the amount you consume. SL83 08-30-2007, 07:35 PM The main thing with college is you usually binge drink every night, and eat pizza or white castle or other shit. Just try to make healthy choices, drinking is going to happen, and exercise. The freshman 15 is the result of being stressed and being on your own and eating more and more unhealthy shit and getting LESS exercise. PoorDoggy 08-30-2007, 07:39 PM Exercise and eat healthy. I lost 15 pounds my freshman year by hitting the gym and eating healthy in spite of picking up a drinking habit. DillingerEscp 08-30-2007, 11:54 PM Be consistent, don't binge. Its been working great for me so far. And above all, try and appreciate drinking your drinks like a human being... Seriously, one night of pounding beer after beer until oblivion can set you back a longg way... But if you get decently stupid drunk on the weekends, no big deal. {FSC}Godfather 09-01-2007, 08:36 PM basketball for like 1-2 hours a day worked for me. ayz 09-02-2007, 02:21 AM hit the gym, lift then play ball i drank like an alcoholic freshman year but my gym routine (and not eating pizza and shit in the dining hall) made me gain 20 lbs while getting down to 5% body fat Belisarius 09-02-2007, 08:44 AM If your too busy with school, boozin, and chicks try boxing. I n college when Time was at a premium, I did boxing three times a week. Great all around work out. Darkstrand 09-02-2007, 12:29 PM hit the gym, lift then play ball i drank like an alcoholic freshman year but my gym routine (and not eating pizza and shit in the dining hall) made me gain 20 lbs while getting down to 5% body fat LOL the crazily retarded stuff people post sometimes on this forum Scurvy With Fries 09-03-2007, 01:14 PM hit the gym, lift then play ball i drank like an alcoholic freshman year but my gym routine (and not eating pizza and shit in the dining hall) made me gain 20 lbs while getting down to 5% body fat Im sorry but you did not gain 20 pounds of muscle in a year while lowering your body fat. especially not drinking like alcoholic BeLiaL 09-03-2007, 01:25 PM he didn't say that the 20 pounds was all muscle Rayn 09-03-2007, 09:56 PM 5% BF, I'd love to see pictures of that, drinking like an alcoholic ... lol Darkstrand 09-03-2007, 10:07 PM he didn't say that the 20 pounds was all muscle he said he gained the 20 lbs while "getting down to 5% bf" (AHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA) so if he was losing bf then the 20 lbs must have been less than 5% non muscle i.e. more than 19 lbs of it had to be muscle. Its as ridiculous as when people are like oh yeah I put on 10 lbs of muscle this month. or 10 lbs of muscle in the last 2 months... lol @ those guys ayz 09-03-2007, 10:08 PM Im sorry but you did not gain 20 pounds of muscle in a year while lowering your body fat. especially not drinking like alcoholic hs http://photos-985.ak.facebook.com/ip002/v13/210/25/5211707/n5211707_31033985_9045.jp g end of frosh/early soph year of college (5% bf) http://www.duke.edu/~mw34/images/ninja.jpg http://a919.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/32/l_c267dc1d0c059cfb3b6a8f8 1e3e7dc86.jpg i drank a lot but i worked out a lot too. i'd be in the gym about 2 hours working out, then play 3-4 games of pickup bball every day. i didn't go to class much. and i didn't eat complete shit; although i drank a lot, my meals were mostly a bunch of chicken breasts, salad, and fruit from the dining hall in HS i weighed 110 lbs. i know this because i wrestled for a year (the coach talked me into it cause he wanted someone in my weight class) by end of freshman year of college i was about 135 Sensi 09-04-2007, 01:33 AM I'm a junior now, but honestly just work out 3-4 times a week, and eat healthy. I drank/drink a shit load, but its also important to plan out what you eat during the day because you'll most likely end up getting late night munchies and eating fatty stuff. dweeb 09-04-2007, 09:41 AM I gained the freshman 35 :/ I started noticing it after a few months, but was too used to the sleep/eat/drink lazy bum style of freshman college life, it just kept getting worse. Do not do this to yourself, as it sucks now just getting back to my regular weight, rather than getting a more cut body. Just get into a healthy routine. But don't be a loser. butabi44 09-05-2007, 02:11 PM I gained the freshman 35 :/ I started noticing it after a few months, but was too used to the sleep/eat/drink lazy bum style of freshman college life, it just kept getting worse. Do not do this to yourself, as it sucks now just getting back to my regular weight, rather than getting a more cut body. Just get into a healthy routine. But don't be a loser. i'm right with you there, paul. when i graduated high school i weighed 153 (but this was not intentional; i had been hit in the face and had to have my jaw wired shot. i lost 21 pounds in 3 weeks). i was at the doctor just two months ago and it said 195. ONE HUNDRED NINETY-FIVE fucking pounds. none of which was muscle gained. thank you very much wings and beer. the thing that will hurt you the most, shaka_zulu705, is your diet. the increase of empty calories from a) beer b) snack foods c) eating late and d) cafeteria food will make you gain the fifteen. D is the most important. you pay for the fucking meal plan, and you figured you should use it. it's not smart to eat three meals a day. but it's hard, because it's a social thing. just try not to eat something of everything when you go down there. also new tastes will come about. for me, it was hard liquor and chicken wings. oh my god it was fantastic. but the scale said 195. so i figured that was way too much. i worked hard this summer, running and eating fewer calories. i'm at 162 right now. i still want to lose 10 more, but that's all really. exercise, don't eat like a fucking pig. :) | ||
