what are the pros and cons of gyms like 24 hr fitness, la fitness, and etcetera in the LA area?

...I'm one skinny ass motherfucker and looking to possibly get bigger maybe. I used to work as an EMT .... buut I got fucking tired of lifting heavy mofos (500 lbs +) without so much as a workout here or there.

Well, I know some gyms like LAfiteness, I heard they get bitchy if you want to do weighted dips/leg raises... or use the squat rack with a seemingly "absurd" weight (any more than 135 lbs = pathetic) ....

SO I dont know... Nothing as long as theyre not gay about stuff

Join the gym that is the absolute closest drive to you no matter what it is or who it is. Any extra excuse to not work out you're going to subconsciesly take, and having to drive is #1. I joined a Bally's that's about 2 miles from my house and badgered the guy into a premium membership for $20 a month.

Eh, theyre all the same to me most the most part, I agree with just going to whatevers closest, im sure theyll have all the equipment you need to do what you want.

I work at 24hr (a super sport one) and its definately got better upkeep and smells a lot nicer then the golds gym i used to go to. But really, Theyre all probably the same, we have a shitload of machines and an indoor pool, and if youre a member you can take any of the classes for free which is a big plus to a lot of people. I heard the Lifetime Fitness place is pretty much exactly like ours. Just get a guess pass and see which has a nicer staff and nicer equipment i guess?

edit: i dont know how much youre planning on working out, but our cheapest rate here is 19 dollars a month to go to that one location only, 4 days a week. its set days, like Mon, wed, fri, sun. etc.

I have a free membership to la fitness. I have used it once but i plan on going a lot more when i get the keys to my Nutrishop
