so i dunno if it's the supps i'm taking or what, but the last two back/leg workouts i've had i've felt dizzy and extremely nauseous immediately after my first set of squats. before squats, i do deadlift, pulldowns, and t-bar row. i eat a small meal 1 hour prior to working out, and i take a handful of pills immediately before working out (per directions). anyone else in this boat besides dennis? any ideas what the hell it could be? it doesn't happen on chest/tri/shoulders days (yet)

i get dizzy after back exercises with high weights, every time. it lasts about 15 seconds, and happens mostly with machines/cables. only happens when i put the weight up higher, not with like 100 pounds or some warm up.

i wish it only lasted that long... the dizziness goes away after a while, but the nausea is there for a good hour or more

make sure you are not overtraining. remember it's not something that happens over night night but rather a condition that develops over time. when was the last time you took a break?

true story:
on my road to building a bigger body I was on a very intense program. I was putting on muscle and everything was great. On one of my leg workouts I started to get really nauseous and cut my workout short thinking the rest would do me some good. Well next week, leg day again, I started feeling sick at my very first set! I was like this is crazy! I got through this routine just 2 weeks ago and logically I should be stronger! Anyways, long story short I got through that workout through sheer force of will alone. I walked out of the gym shaking like a leaf. When I got home, the very moment the last sip of my post workout drink hit my throat it all came back up. Atleast I managed to get half of it in the toilet. :(

I was heaving and having such violent convulsions that I feared for my life. I almost called the ambulance. I was in bad shape and once the convulsions somewhat subsided and my only concern became to try to hold down my post w/o drink so that I could atleast replenish my energy which I sipped very slowly. Needless to say, I fell sick and was pretty much bed ridden for a couple of days.

Moral of the story is listen to your body. I was always tired and dragging ass. Classic signs of overtraining. It didn't help that i wasn't doing any cardio at all and my cardio sucked shit. They say that especially for skinny guys that you shouldnt do any cardio when bulking but I disagree with that now. You see while your body does indeed build more muscle and get stronger, your CNS and ability to recover does not vary much unless of course you are on "super" drugs. So if you are already at the verge of your recuperative ability you are going to either have to decrease volume or increase rest period. Just some food for thought.

what kind of supps are you taking?

my guess is probably a combo of a supp that dehydrates you and lack of proper water drinkage.

for the record i do NOT suffer from bouts of dizziness while working out and this sounds dangerous as fuck if this happens upon you suddenly while lifting a heavy amount of weight.
