I had a few mins tonight because MrsAlv got called into the hospital so I threw this together... the guitar is all one take and can be changed... or removed. If anyone wants to join me lemme know and we can start throwing something together..

lol I don't have a team, I didn't think anyone was doing anything.. all the threads have been dead for days and only activity was people saying noones done jack so extensions are needed :lol:

I'm almost finished my parts as well. The deadline is tentatively set for Sept.8th, which is TONS of time. We need a target to shoot for, otherwise people will procrastinate and it'll never get done.

I can tell you play bass better than that bass sounds. What brand fretless is that? I have a Yamaha RBX800AF. Was that recorded acoustically or direct?

I have a bass on hold right now but I saw a nice Spector in the same shop today. The guy didn't have it priced yet. When I get one I will try and hook up if interest here still exists. BTW, Alvarez, your stuff kicks butt.

Its not a fretless at all. It's a mid level Jay Turser bass with a high C tuned down to normal 5 string tuning so basically the 5th string is a 105 guage hehehehe.

I ran it into my guitar gear. Like I said its a raw idea :shrug: more than anything I was trying to generate some interest in other players so I can get a teammate. Looks like everyone wanting to compete has a team mainly though. I noticed last night the bass part got bumped just slightly over a bit in pro tools and put me on top of the beat a bit. I was gonna line it up better but figured before it was all said and done I would end up redoing the part anyway lol.

If you are wanting to join Heat you are welcome to redo that bass line with the fretless... I think a fretless would sound nice... You also don't have to play it like I did... you can totally change it if ya want. I feed off of others fairly well. I kinda like that last outro and ending though :D

I was wondering which direction people were going to take with that drum line. I was beginning to think everyone on here were metalheads.

I heard some frets but part of that sure sounded fretless to me lol. I tried recording into my sound card but some of the low freqs got all muddy sounding so I gave up.

I play through an Oberheim digital effects into a little Peavey Basic 60 practice amp and had run strait from the effects into the sound card when I tried that.

Yea that was one take.. I have my metal side at times too but I am more of a blues guy all in all prolly.

Seems a lot of what I record is rock though as it goes over better with my students and thats easy money selling cd's in my store.

That's good. I'm an SRV fan and the guitar in the first one reminded me of his work.

I guess my main interest styles are 70's classic rock - Kansas, Fleetwood Mac, Journey, Boston etc. Southern and blues rock - ARS, Allman Brothers etc. and jazzy Steely Dan(Donald Fagen), Dregs, Al Di Meola...

I have a Spector and it roccccccckkkkkkkkksss! Lockout (another TW bassist) suggested it too me.

I'm using it in my team's song, so you'll hear it :D

Hey, I have one of these put back at the local store. Ibanez SRX300, same color as pic. Almost new cond, giving $250.

The guy at the store priced the Spector out of range for me. :)($600+)

The rules were that the teams were not supposed to show their stuff till the final day. You guys have email, ftp and the other crap for that.
That being said, i aint listening to it.

I'm not in the contest dave I was never paired with anyone and even after posting this I don't think anyone else has interest. I dunno there has been much progress by the people who have partners to be honest. Animism said some were getting some stuff done but noone has been responding or showing much activity when he has asked.

Heck, I didn't even know there were rules rofl... Last I had heard there was going to be individual threads for each team to post in. (like the original composition thread that actually worked)
