One question though, since it only shows 2 servers up.

Xfire shows 40, how can I connect to one of those?


Sadly, the only way to connect to servers over the Internet is if they are running in no-login mode and have the fixed Tribes2.exe, in time more servers will show up I hope.

I downloaded Full version and masterservers update.Everything works but...

I keep hearing people say their is more servers and more people playing if I run it in non-login.How do I run it in non-login?

When I click on Tribes 2 Online - Alternate Master Server.bat,what do I do to set it on non-login?

All I get is 2 servers sound like you guys getting a bunch of them:ofn2: :huh:

We had a 7-person TAC2 game going for 5 hours last night. Unfortunately, the person hosting the server just ran the updated tribes2.exe file and not the rest of the scripts, so his game didn't register with the Alt Master Server. If by next Friday this problem still exists with the T2 master servers, then i'll have the individual hosting the server register on the alt master servers so people can see it in the list. I'll, of course, announce this as well as next Friday approaches.

I patched #clustermixed servers.

But on my client I get a problem when I start with dt.exe -nologin

DT is checking to make sure you aren't cheating and thinks that the modified exe is a cheat. I bet there is no work around (short of updating DT).

http://www.triben.de/img/dt.jpgIf you replaced your Tribes2.exe with the one in the first post you'd get that error. You should only use that Tribes2.exe if you're a Windows server host. Players don't need it.

If you start dt.exe -nologin you get an UE.
If you start dt.exe -online you need to auth.

If you just want to play don't replace the Tribes2.exe - and DT should work fine. If you already replaced the exe and don't have a backup you will prolly need to reinstall, or get the exe from someone else.

The client part works fine for linux users, just start the game up in offline mode.

Unfortunately nobody so far has a cracked linux binary for the server-end, so they'll have to wait until there is one to host.

Just a heads up with this script though; it will try to query the list of servers almost instantly after attempting to grab the list off the web, so you may only get the first 10-15 on the list to show up. The list also has 250 servers, most of which are probably dead. I might throw up a fix for his script so it can try all of them every time, but going through that many might get a bit of slowdown for the game.

I've got a lightweight alternative alternate master server up. It's a single vl2 file, so you just pop it in GameData\Base\ and run the game from your offline shortcut.

The only server listed so far is my own construction server, but the list is regulated, and the script works fine alongside the one in this thread.
I've also included a small auth system (based on forums users), so it's possible for players to have a unique guid. You can disable this with $Host::TCauth = 0; if you run an offline server with the script and don't want it.
