they added an afk reporting system for BGs.

If enough people report you afk, you dont earn any honor until you enter combat.

i play a lock now too,

the DoT nerf and no more AFK valley is a twin side dick slap to the face

at least now there will be in game voice chat so ppl can listen to my awesome muzicks

I hope we can mute said awesome muzicks.

I'm pretty sure you can disable voice chat in general, and probably mute people on your ignore list.

I don't want to hear 12 year olds in BG :P

I think there's two stages to that.

1st debuff keeps you from gaining honor unless you enter combat.
2nd debuff (for people who whack someone once or Horde/Alliance collaborations) bars you from gaining honor at all for that BG.

From what I understand, when enough people report you, you will get a 30 second debuff to enter combat. After that 30 seconds you will gain another debuff that prevents you from earning honor until you enter combat. I have already found a flaw with this system. If you go find a harpy and let it beat on you for a while, you should never gain the the debuff. As a warrior in tank gear I can let a harpy beat on me for 20 minutes or longer.

This is why you don't sit in the cave.

You can climb the mountains Horde-side and sit right above the gnoll mines (so it looks like you're in the cave on the map).

That doesn't stop anyone from reporting you when they see you've dealt no damage or healing at all, though.

Alliance side, at the caves and frozen lake?

any idea how you "report" someone, usually i just run to the horde shamans in the base and afk there... i think this is more to stop people running bots all day/night

Last weekend most times I'd queue up I'd take the first tower on the way to SH gy then if I died I'd just hang back in the cave. That way I have hk's, dmg, healing, etc and could just sit back and WOTF every 2 mins to avoid an afk boot.

when i "afk" in av, i usually help take stonehearth (im horde), help battle it out for maybe 2 mins, then afk @ the flag to look like i'm defending. i actually am defending since i can hear everything in wow even if i'm surfing or whatever. so if i get attacked, or someone tries to turn the gy, i can at least tab back to wow, and do something to stop them if im not too busy. i have an ally char i do the same thing with @ snowfall gy.

i've been doing this for 2 years and i've never even gotten so much as a tell from anyone in game, including a gm.

and thats not really afk'ing either... thats what defense is, wether you stare at the screen or not :)

true. point is, with extremely minimal effort, you can avoid looking like your afk in av.
