Thinking of rejoining (pvp mostly)

Hey guys.

I need some advice. Got a Hunter at 70, with decent pvp equip (http://armory.wow-europe.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Gorgonnash&n=Sarnu) and i am retired. There come some 6 months with not much to do.
So i'm thinking about rejoining. But just for pvp. Not raiding. I mean i got time, but i don't want to waste it.
So it breaks down to: Are Hunter still considered useless in arena? Is there a possiblity for hunters to get a decent (e.g. enough points for arena gear) arena group? And if so how do I get one? Do I have to get the scorpion pet for cleanse spam? Advices are greatly appreciated.

Hunters are complete shit for arena right now. The only thing we're good at is shitting on double melee comps that nobody runs anymore.

If you can hold out that long, we're getting a new ability in 2.3 that is going to cause people to want to field us again.

For the most part, hunters are weak in arenas. They are not unusable but they do not perform as well as other classes. On a better note though, in the next update they are supposed to buff hunters for arena purposes, same as rogues. I have no idea when this update is supposed to come though, it may not be until the season 2 - season 3 break. And also this is not a definite update it is just talk as far as i know.

So you're saying it's hard to find new groups at the moment?

I'm kinda building up a guild group with friends, but they're mostly not my level of engagement.

As to the usefulness, it hasn't changed since it quit obviously. With 2.3 they are changing stuff to the hunter.

Do you know how these will look like? Any hints as how to find a group?

Wait until you play decent (note: warlock) teams and you will see it is beatable.
